Operation Marlin is played 50% AAS and 50% Insurgency and it wasn't so rarely ;)
I edit and add it on your post :-D
Let choose every one ...

Lashkar Valley, because there are caves+hills+good ambush locations => love it to play it on the opfor side. Not all Insurgency maps are so varied.

Amazingly, since I posted this thread and the launch of 1.0, Operation Marlin Insurgency started appearing pretty often on servers as well as on YouTube videos. This put me to shame big time.
Thanks for editing the selection, but the polling board should also be edited, I believe. Marlin is not there yet.

Honestly, in the 1.0 release, any map where OPFOR is properly equipped (Militia, Taliban, ARF). The Iraqi Insurgents were gutted too much imo making Fallujah West and Karbala less fun to play I think.

Iron Ridge, really loving the chechnya feel to it. I wished someone would make a Grozny map.

Fallujah West - Simply the ideal urban setting for an insurgency, with alot of potentiality for ambushes, IED's, and direct combat down the mainroad.

Lashkar Valley - The mountanous terrain and difficult acces through roads make it the ideal enviroment for Taliban to set up ambushes against german forces.

Iron Ridge - Don't know why, but some of the best times playing in insurgency have been on that map.

Genius idea, but then it wouldn't be an insurgency :(

Why so? Russian forces against Militia faction in Insurgency mode.

Because the battle of Grozny in 1994 was a dragged out fight between the Russian armor divisions and Chechen guerillas and skirmishers.
The objective of that combat was to win over Grozny, not engage in search and destroy missions against insurgents.
And you couldn't really call the Chechens insurgents at that time, more like national resistance.

Again in 1996 it was a Chechen raid on Grozny which sought to seperate and isolate Russian positions in the city.

But that is only if we want a truthful reflection of how that battle went down.

Ramiel is my favorite. Fallujah West is always laggy in certain areas, I don't know why ><

I wish playing as insurgency was more about ambushing, because everyone automatically runs to the cache to protect it and making it easier for the enemy to know, "oh look a bunch of militia are at that building. I wonder if they're protecting our objective..."

I'm torn between Fallujah and Korengal. I love the urban fighting of Fallujah, but the mountainous terrain of Korengal really evens out the playing field for insurgents. Played it a few nights ago, we ambushed a squad and a humvee with 4 insurgents and wiped them out entirely. A great rpg hit on the humvee and a volley of automatic fire just obliterated them.

I prefer to be USMC on Fallujah, but the urban fighting really adds something for the insurgents as there's plenty of rooftops to fire rpgs from or watch for that perfect moment to detonate an ied.

Burning Sands is by far my favourite insurgency map right now followed very closely by Black Gold.

They are just different which if you have been playing this as long as me is a big deal.

Yeah, that too.

The thing that blows is that the fact that the Flags in play knock 30 tickets off the ins. team if the Brit's cap it. :|
So almost 2 Flag Caps; Brit's win! :)

How is Black Gold Ins? I heard it's very imbalanced.

Burning Sands has been patched and fixed.

Black Gold is great I've not noticed an imbalance.
