WEll unfortunately, any of methods above dont work for me. I tried almost everything and still cant play. Can any of the devs look into this?

Have the same problem. Reinstall C++ didn't help.

Also already tried all the methods suggested here but none worked.

Win XP x64, SP 3

uninstalling + reinstalling = same results

Allready done that, nothing.

Please stay patient. We are working on a fix for this and will release it as soon as we deem it stable and have everything compiled. As for now. All I can offer is that you try reinstalling C++ from another reputable source. If that does not work, attempt a full reinstall of PR.

1. Remove PR
2. Reinstall the correct x86 and x64 C++ or do a repair of the files
3. Then reinstall Project Reality.

That's the best advice I can give you at the moment.

It worked!!!!! I did install all the patches manually with visual c + + 2012 redistributable 11.0.60610 (x64 and x86) already installed on my pc, then installed the upgrade 4 to visual 2012 (http://www.microsoft.com/pt-br/download/details.aspx?id=39305 ), rebooted, repair updated 4 and rebooted again. And it worked!!
My pc is 64bit win8.1

I downloaded the mod yesterday,but I got the same problem.
Tried every method you guys posted here: x64, x86,reboot ,repair uninstall reinstall,every possible combination but the game still does not start.
Will there be a fix from the devs soon or are we on our own?

It might take 1-2 days maybe, till microsoft does sth. via internet to your PC concerning NET framework 4... who knows, maybe a silent win-update concerning that problem. just try those steps below tomorrow for example:

I can confirm there is a fix coming, but not sure exactly when

Ive tried it but still no result
I went in and deleted a bunch of the visual c++ from previous years such as 2006 2008 2010, most of them where double installed and where both versions x86 and x64. I uninstalled everything and downloaded and installed visual c++ 2012 (x64) and repaired it. but Now it is telling me i need update 1. is this another problem, Or do i really need updates 1-4?

Each version of Visual C++ is a separate tree.

The C++ 2012 update 4 is ALL INCLUSIVE. It has everything you need for the 2012 tree.

You do however need to install the correct version, either 32 bit, or 64 bit, for your OS.


So, what OS do you have? And is it 32 bit or 64 bit?



Also...
By deleting the older versions of Visual C++ you might find some other programs will not work now.

Do you recommend downloading those previous versions? 2005 2008 2010
I have windows 8 and im running 64 bit

Please help i really want to play PR again..

I reinstalled all previous versions in year order, plus repaired 2012, still getting same error message :/
