Re: The "French Jokes"
You think it's bad with the FF? Imagine how the African players must feel when the ARF pops up. It's ALWAYS a (am i allowed to use the n word?) stereotype with watermelon, KFC and kool-aid.
I can't wait for the Brazilian Forces (if they ever come), we'll be huehue monkeys playing soccer, dancing samba and asking for monies otherwise we report you. Do i care? Of course not, it's part of the fun. The only faction we can't have is Switzerland, they can't cap flags, it'd always stop at neutral.

Completely agree. It was funny maybe the first time. Now every time the map loads in and people are on French, they make jokes about it. It is not funny and got old very quick.

Re: The "French Jokes"
Yeah I know, I actually pulled that to make it more dramatic or I don't know, clearly failed and was unnecessary, but my first concern really is the repetitiveness and the lack of originality. I mean, seriously, the Baguette jokes made me smile, but the surrender and white flag... it's old, even jokes about us being lazy, or smelly, just something NEW could do, would be funnier than those.thelastvortigaunt wrote:The jokes should stop ONLY because they're stale. It's like repeating a meme until it stops being funny and starts being annoying except this meme has repeated for decades.
If you're going to claim that it's a disrespect to servicemen and women and that's the part that offends you, you're taking things way too seriously. Just my two cents.
Hopefully it'll all fade away in a few weeks.

As for the "don't give a fuck", I'm sorry but it's not how I was raised, sit and watch... nope.
Now I gave my opinion on that and asked for it to stop or at least reduce, now if you don't give a fuck, please don't mind me and ignore all that. I still think some people out there probably don't even realise how boring those jokes are.
@turista, I'm sorry I didn't understand what you were saying the first time.

Re: The "French Jokes"
To be honest, you aren't helping the subject. Yes, everyone's nationality has a certain trait, an element that can be made fun of. Most of them, have been listed here. Yeah, okay, France, happens to be the butt of the joke on their maps, because of it military history. Yeah, its going to happen. It'll die down, usually within a month or so, once everything gets straightened out, and, to put it bluntly, nobody gives a shit about the jokes anymore.
I'm willing to bet that if I were to go into a server, right now on as the US Army, or USMC, and as "Where is the McDonald's?," I'd get a stfu response.
Just like how if I were to say, in a month or so, "The French vehicles are white 'case they surrender," I'd get the same, stfu response.
This is the Internet, where bad jokes die fast.
If I made anyone angry at the post, wasn't the intent.

Re: The "French Jokes"
The thing is French jokes are usually way more disrepectful than others.
Frog/cheese eaters, and their equivalents for other nations are ok, we can all accept that.
The fact that someone from a country without any real history (I won't quote any, otherwise, we'll start a flame war) comments something with white flag like jokes makes me spit.
And all of this really started when we decided (cleverly) not to go to a clusterfuck war, you should learn from your mistakes guys.

As I said before, its easy to tell that when you are not french, and you dont take in your face the same disrespectful war jokes every round on a map with the FF.Sockman wrote:I give up. I sincerely hope people actually not take everything so seriously. Its the internet, and it's bound to happen. If everyone ignores it, it'll go away.

Re: The "French Jokes"
-I'm done with this. I am wondering why a thread, that wants people to stop "disrespecting" their history with meaningless jokes, that do no harm, other than possibly injuring their pride, would respond with statements like "a country with no real history," among others.
In case anyone forgot, France isn't the only country to surrender to anyone. They also aren't the first to make a mistake. The English lost to the Spanish in 1589, after attacking the same force a year before. The United States.. We invaded CANADA. Canada, of all countries, back when they were still an English territory. Another example The Six day war. 1 country, vs 3, and they won, against all odds. Another. Germany's Invasion of the USSR in the 1940s
The common theme is that everyone bases their stereotype off of the same thing.
Example 1) All Americans are, fat, jobless rednecks. Think about it... Does that make sense?
Example 2) All French surrender upon any contact with hostile force. Again, does it? No. Why, you might ask? For one, would you want to face the Foreign Legion in any kind of combat.... They would, have, and will fight to the last man.
1 step forward, 15 steps back...

Re: The "French Jokes"
People shouldn't have to get over it. It's offensive to them. Just tone it down or find something original, is that really that much to ask?
Take the high road and have some common courtesy instead of defending your actions with the same old excuse of "It's the internet. Hurrdurr."

Re: The "French Jokes"
I find your butthurt very funny, OP.
I remember once when nAyo was calling me a monkey, I just asked if he has been surrendering already that day, then we laughed together. gdpr_user1 was making "huehue" jokes on me when we were in a squad together, then I just said "you can't even troll me, dude. You are swedish, thus an androgynous faggot by default" and again, we laughed.
You guys take that **** too serious. This is the internet, lads. It is a place to make friends, not get butthurt with every silly joke.
