Haha play smart then, set an AAV between your main and the battlefield and kill that chopper.
I think with the new changes you should be even MORE worried about the enemy gunship
Do a couple of cas heli rounds in 1.0 and then talk please all of these posts are simple guessings.

Even if the model isn't 100% accurate, the model in game is supposed to be the AH-1Z (AFAIK PR uses the vanilla model, and the vanilla is supposed to be the Viper), hence it should carry AAMs.

"Supposed to be" doesn't make it so. And with the clone wars balancing mindset some people have for conventional factions, it isn't very likely to happen. Hence, you should wait for a better model to be made, ideally placed on a much better engine.

BF2 Cobra (the one we use in PR):

AH-1W SuperCobra:
Quite a lot of differences between them, such as main rotor, engine, engine intakes, tail rotor on totally different sides, EMC etc etc. The BF2 one is pretty much an AH-1W with a 4 bladed rotor instead of a 2 bladed rotor...
