Maybe I missed this, but the Officer kit. Only Squad Leaders can pick that up correct? NOt just any member of a 4+ man squad.

only available to Squad Leaders of a 4+man squad (including the SL themselves) and Commanders (no squad requirements for CMDR obviously).
The kits can be picked up by other players... we thought about preventing that, but it's got a lot of issues to prevent it. If it turns out to be a problem we may prevent picking them up.
And the "cool stuff" we have planned (for a future release) for Officers and Commanders will *only* be available if they are using the Officer kit *and* a CMDR or SL.

I'm assuming the kits are only needed for the main roles of the vehicles such as the pilot of a blackhawk or the driver and gunner of a tank and that we won't need to kit up for something like the turret machine gun or the miniguns right?
Also will the mounted guns have there iron sights in for 0.41?
Edit: just thought, someone said APCs will carry 8 men, is that 8 in the back +2 crew or 8 total?

jeeps and other light vehicles will remain drivable by anyone wont they though?
edit: and one more thing, that sl setup seems very powerful as it is, i can forsee a lot of bitching about who uses it as in a massive surge in creating of squads and every body else getting pissed and lone wolfing it instead.

people squading up and the sl being a ******* and just ramboing it because he has 3 med packs and a scoped assult rifle and a parachute and charges, its like a vanilla medic mixed with the prmm spec ops.
what will the other 2 extra improvements be regarding? assulting capabilities or supportive ones like giving ability to order supplies without comander or something? because its pretty much got all assulting things covered.
will there be close monitering by devs on how the sl kits are used?

Great job devs, mainly congrats for the ability to take good advice. Most people are too self centered for that.
I'm talking about flag logic, where it is fairest for a flag to be grey when contested, then capped by the team that won the engagement and got the other team pushed off the flag. This is just soo much fun.
And you do not get people respawning (which obviously leads to spawnkilling) on the flag as you are capping it all the time.
good work on the other stuff too.

dont rush the devs, i'll have no time to play at the holidays so 0.5 (let's promote this to 0.5 instead of 0.41) on february is A-OK for me! take your time to make it the best possible

Caz your right just main roles (pilots/gunners/drivers, NOT side gunners or cupola gunners).
APC is 8 TOTAL.
Jeeps/Boats are driveable by anyone.
SL Kit will be monitored for exploits and action taken appropriately.

That Grid jazz will make things easyer. Now stuff like Air strikes can be called into Areas now.....The grids are numbered/letter? E.g 1A, 3F would all have its own box on the grid?
Nows there is the merlin, whill there be any maps where to brits can use them? lol

(i hope they dont have that bloody MP7. Its good but....id prefer an M9F2 or a Browning any day). Could Pilots and Drivers show up differently on the Map? like the Star added on VIP mode with the VIP car?
Hang on....say an american drops his Pilot Kit. Can an MEC/PLA pick it up?.....That would SCREEEEEEEW Mutrrah if thats the case.
Maybe i will be killed by something other than an M24 or M4 these days?....Nah, Long shot.

It seems a little unreal that that an INF officer(say, assault with ammo) would have the knoledge to Drive/Gun on an MBT. Maybe the 50Cal, but thats about it.

could be better if it was this way:
On Muttrah, a player is 1st to a littlbird and mounts the pilot's seat. He gets a server message. '-=

WNER:=-, you have 20 seconds to comply'. After 20 seconds, his Kit automatically changes to the PILOT kit. Until he dies, he bares the Pilot Kit.
Same with Tank Driver.
A player creates a squad and is squad leader. After 2minutes, he is automaticaly issued the SL kit. to avoid squad hopping, he is bound to that squad until he dies. While dead and viewing the SQUAD/KIT screen, he can leave the squad and the Kit. This would mean that there is only 9 SLs also as that is the MAX ammount of squads on BF2/PRMM.
I also just thought.
If only Tank Drivers can man an MBt, who can repair it? Can engineers get in? Does the tank driver get a wrench too?(that only works on MBTs, APCs, AVVs, LBTs ect?)

Now that Arnold Schwarzenegger can say, "Get to the chopper do it now", can we hope for some quicker jets in 0.5? IMO, the jets (especially the A10) look like big C130s flying around.

No way.. we're all tired of people RACING to the choppers to get the pilot seat instead of racing for a plan.. and orginization.. and it will force more teamwork and more active squad participation.
I hate that in Muttrah, I'm forced to get in a chopper with a pilot who's only flying because he got there first. Half the time if I risk getting in that chopper, I plop down right into the ocean with that pilot crashing the bird down.. or into a wall.. or a poll.. etc.
This will prevent newbie pilots from killing half our own team in the first 20 seconds of a game. hehe

I don't beleive you. I was told so many times by so many modders this was impossible! If we can really do this, we can revolutionize the vehicle aspect of this mod nearly as much as we've revolutionized the infantry aspect, and do what, to my knowledge, no mod has ever completely done before.

It would absolutely behoove me to see the enemies spotted system only light up what grid referance they're at and not pinpoint them on the map. This way you only know what sector they're in and not what wall they're behind.
Can't stress that enough.
