Perhaps he was coming from the angle of comparing Project Reality with Rainbow Six series style multiplayer realism? Anyone who played a fair bit of RS multiplayer would find PR somewhat (cough) 'arcady', but thats only by virtue of RS being the hardest of the hard core realism games.
(looks nervously left and right)

'[R-DEV wrote:eggman']Are you telling me that the language barrier issues are such that you don't understand that the term "arcade" would be received in a derogatory manner by folks such as ourselves who are developing a realism and teamplay oriented mod?
I define arcade as anything not possible in real life, so to be honest, not even the best Mil-sim's come close to what I want

??: There was no offence meant.
'[R-DEV wrote:eggman']Please list for me the "arcade" features you think we want to keep?
I could, but I think I already have.

I don’t think it’s really a case of arcade features ‘you want to keep’ so much as features of realism that can’t be implemented within a particular engine effectively or features that are simply style considerations and nods to practicality. The ultimate 'reality' would be if 50000 volts went through the players chair when their avatar died in the game.... which is hardly a good thing and very bad for a player base.
Off the top of my head I can think of...
Ability to lean (for peeking around corners, etc)
Weapon drawing and holstering animations (per Rainbow Six)
No upright<>prone stance change, only kneel>prone and kneel>stand.
Destructible terrain (probably beyond the scope of today’s games)
No ‘dead man’ communications.
No global chat.
Enemy sighting call system that is harder to abuse.
Selective vehicle damage (which I know is being worked on)
Selective body part damage (per Rainbow Six)
Much of all that really depends on how deep an engine can be moded.

I don't know if the Dev team actually wants to keep it, but #1 on my list would be the on screen real-time radar. It most certainly falls under the "arcade" category.

not possible in the engine
possible, but very very very time consuming. pr only has one animator...
that actually isnt realistic. i can dive from standing to prone. it just needs a better animation
destructable terrain not possilbe in bf2, aside of destructible structures that look like ground
afaik, communications stoppage when dead is being worked on
no global chat? comon!
no idea what you mean by call system abuse
seletive vehicle damage will probly be fully implemented for everything by .7
selective body damage is imposible, in terms of 'arm shot = cant use arm' 'leg shot = you slow down'

Ummm…That different game engines support different things, meaning some modifications can be very easy or totally impossible to implement depending on the engine?
With drop to prone from standing, sure you can dive, but you see lots of ‘sight enemy – go prone – shoot – kill’ (with the M4 particularly) that in real life would be unrealistic given the difficulties of handling a rifle and aiming it after ‘diving’ to the ground.
Enemy spotted system abuse: Using it to search for enemies you can’t actually see. I don’t do it myself but a good dozen times or so I have done an enemy spot by mistake and found a different enemy I didn’t even see.

Blood .... right?
Yeah it would be cool if people could explode. Im pretty sure its not possible but thinking back on some deaths ... seeing myself or seeing the person next to me be blown in half from a direct APC round would be nerve racking.

Thanks for reinforcing the stereotype that all people who talk in 'txt' speak are retarded.
This is a forum, not a text message, you can use more than x amount of characters you know, and maybe, just maybe people will be able to understand what you've written the first time they read it, because it takes me multiple passes to understand what you're on about.
