Reworked landing gears. Different coloured objects are not welded.
Front landing gear TRIS increased to 790 from 626.

Rear landing gear TRIS increased to 816 from 764.

Overall look TRIS reduced by 50-60 counts on the fuselage.

Found a way to do it,i.e. attaching object to parent.

I've never used that collapse thing before. Best to attach the model and then weld the verts to join bits together.

Since the the canopy wouldn't weld to the verts of the cockpit,i had to cut it(not detached) out,not welded to the main body.
Image

This is how i did it(illustration):
1.Cockpit was attached to the body.
Image

2.Image

3.The blue area is deleted all across the cockpit tub (similar to a bathtub).
Image

In the midst of figuring out how to connect/weld the tub to the body.Welded the nose since there was no problem with that.

Update:
Optimized the model further.
1.Sculpted the mid-air refueling probe on the nose, collapsed the intake's polygons and cockpit is still not welded but is a child object to the main parent body(still attached).
TRIS count is 6030,all inclusive.
Image

2.Image

3.Detached flaps and rudder as separate objects(not detached to element).Capped all the separate objects and open borders on the main body. All different parts are labelled correctly.

Smaller details should have fewer sides/tris than larger details. So the little detail on the nose, shouldn't have as many cylinder sides as the nose its on, like yours currently has, and should have much fewer, and should be around equal detail in comparison to their size, where currently that little nose detail, has far more detail/tris, than the more important, nose it is on.

cockpit also has many unused verities I can spot that need to be removed, but other than that looks good :)

Hello, the model looks great. But I can't help to feel that the whels are slightly too big.

size wise, wheels are about right, thing has pretty big wheels in r/l since its a CATOBAR aircraft, which means it needs to do the "controlled crash", to land on a carrier. Back wheels especially need more detail and rounding thou.

:D update:
Tris count is 6519,increased from 6030.
Rear wheel reworked, the sides are now 24,previously set to 18.Should i add more detail?
1.Image

2.Image

Collapsed sides on the refueling probe.
Image

Added more segments to the nose.
Image

Front landing gear compartment ready, doesn't collides with the cockpit tub.
Image

This part folds and rests on the front landing gear.
Image

This part opens sideways.
Image

The different parts have compartments of different depths.
Illustrative image for the front landing gear opening.
Image

Rear landing gear compartments with different heights and different parts that open in opposite directions.
Image
Image

Stablizers separated.
Image

I'll add some thickness to the landing gear's doors and will try to reduce the tris of the cockpit tub.

Question:
1.Should i also make the air brakes?
2.The cockpit tub is not welded to the body(don't know how to),although its attached to the main body, what to do about it?

3p model is near completion form modelling point of view, may or may not be from optimization point of view.

To [R-DEV]Rhino and agus92: Thanks :D

Is this much detail enough on the rear wheel?

update:
Smoothing groups applied to everything except the cockpit and the cockpit is optimised, increased segments on the cockpit's canopy and on the nose.
3P near complete (View in 3D)

The smoothing groups are represented badly by P3d model.

Renders:

While rendering the image background was black, but on exporting,it turned white.

Smoothing groups look good IMO though there seems to be some sort of disturbance on the tail fin (where that black dot is)

Shouldn't the Wings, Tail and Engines have separate smoothing groups from the main body?

To [R-CON]Mr.VdHeide:Hopefully all the smoothing groups are alloted correctly,i'll check that dot out, thanks.

To Brozef:Yes,the tail, the wings and the engine intakes have different smoothing groups than the main body.Look at the render of bottom view, you'll notice the main body looking distinct from the wings.

Lord this looks so good.
Please don't be used just on Falklands maps.

Update:
Corrected the tail defect and similar defects on the bottom. gave 0.02-0.04m thickness to the landing gear doors and adjusted the front landing gear doors to fit at the bottom, rear landing gear doors are still left to be adjusted so as to fit correctly.

The aircraft undertook its final carrier launch with the French Navy on 17 March 2016, ahead of its withdrawal from service on 12 July 2016
(back to the future-8 july 2016).Still 4 days to retirement,stop 'em :-P .
