i must say, i mastered the hell out of DC's lil bird & blackhawk, all while using a joystick. I don't see how you can come off telling us that we used the wrong "tool", if i can fly better than half of those guys using keyboard/mouse. But at the same time, i enjoy BF2 heli's, and can perform almost the same manuevers...

ive been able to adjust to and fly all the choppers from DC, POE, BFV and BF2 with a joystick. its all just getting used to. DC choppers arent great, theres essentially no cieling on them, they, i think, were the hardest to get used to, but after a while you can have them do anything. also i liked how after they got to a certain ammount of damage they fell, not just exploded. adding in a crash landing type thing if possible would be great.

If choppers in real life had the sensitivity/performance of BF2 choppers they would crash all the time. But you guys can have your opinions. If you think BF2 choppers are fun, then by all means, knock yourselves out.

All the top DC chopper pilots in Australia use mouse and keyboard. And they run circles around people with joysticks. Why? Because the movement of the fingers is more accurate than the wrist. Plus, with a mouse you can move it rapidly across the mouse pad while using rudder to perform very tight turns. Every time I came across joystick players I could turn far tighter and quicker than them and out manouver them, even in the hind.

In real life choppers use a joystick, yes, but it is fully floor standing and the pilot also has cyclic and collective to handle. Together they provide a completely different experience to a tiny plastic pos in one hand. Both mouse and joystick are very different from the real thing.

Yes, DC choppers were very sensitive and you could turn on a dime. But that didn't detract from their flight characteristics.

You know what you could do. I played Flight Simulator 98 a long while ago, and what they did is that you could press the number pad keys and that would enable you to look around. Ex. 8 would be looking to your 12 o'clock, 6 would be looking to your 3 o'clock, you probably wouldn't be able to look directly behind or directly below unless it looked like you were sticking your head out of the window in the Blackhawks, so in that case, you could use the 2 key to look to your 6 o'clock and 5 to look directly below. Eh?
