hey guys, thanks a lot for the feedback. A lot of ppl seem to be liking to the idea. I'll try to get a WIP. All I need is some coders.

Remember that mountable camel hidden in some alleyway on some old Desert Combat (1942) map? I really wished I could of actually taken him out for a spin on the town! Or better yet, cruisin' around on al basrah with camels and a flock of goats as camouflage! x-)

So would the "rider" kit also get a sabre? It could be kind of like the suicide car. You ride up toward the enemy soldier, and if you're right next to them, when you hit the right mouse button, you decapitate them. If you're too far away, you just swing wildly. And of course the left mouse button would be reserved for "ALLAHU AKBAR!"

lmao, I think we should stick with my original plan where you can fire the AK or pistol but it'll be really inaccurate. Imagine trying to sneak up to a sniper and have the knife out and just riding by the sniper and knifing his ***. Who knew insurgent class would be so fun?

i dont think you really understand how much work it would be to animate/code/model a horse in PR

You could make on by:

Taking a wheel, making it transparent and then putting a horse leg texture.

When the horse runs, the legs would....spin really fast.

Allow me to demonstrate! (took me 5 mins so dont worry)

Well it's not a bad idea, they do use horses...specially on wide areas...
There was a vietnam mod, i think insurrection mod, it had some horses. It was pretty funny to use them...

LOL that made my day, I thought the last army to use horses was the Nazis in WWII, boy did the Allies made fun of them then. But what for the chinese?

I was kinda inspired because in Jarhead you have that scene where the USMC are in the desert and a group of insurgents are approaching them in horses.
They approach in camels. I think camels would make more sense. You could do camel races and the like.

LOL! That crazy horse is awesome. I can totally imagine the legs spinning ROFL!!! So cartoonish.

On a serious note though, modelling and animating a convincing HORSE would be WAY harder than making any vehicle! No beginner modeller would have a hope in hell of doing it well. You should rather start with something easy like a CUBE, and work your way up to something as complex as a tank, which is still way less complex than a horse.

Horses for insurgents? Thats just insulting. Camels too.

You know these countries are developed right? Even poor countries have an abundance of cars, motorcycles, etc.

Maybe if it was a WWI game, then horses would be interesting, but for modern combat horses would be silly and way too hard to design and script for.

Sorry, guys, this is not a good idea for this type of game. While horses and other riding/pack animals do have a place in long-term unconventional warfare and mountain ops, this mod is a low to high intensity conventional, combined-arms conflict. If this were a MMORPG representing a contemporary low intensity conflict setting, then horses would be a great way to get around without leaving much of an operational footprint.
