Well I like the sand bag idea, if Squad leaders are able to "summon" magical bags of tricks in the middle of the gun fight (rally point), why is it so unrealistic to think this idea.

Some interesting thoughts here.

I like the barbed wire idea.

The only way to get past the wire is to have a vehicles drive through them or give the enginer a wire cutter. That would make for some interesting battles/firefights. Heck, you could even make little "checkpoints" for VIP or with the rally points in AAS.

I reckon you could even let it be wrenched by the enemy and friendly engineers, like mines are currently

nah, big explosives like C4, slams, heavy AT, tank shells, etc, should only be able to clear it.

haha c4 + barbed wire = total warcrime

It'd be cool for apcs to drop them, they hold down right click in the driver seat and drive in a line so there would be a trail of sandbags behind.

Shouldnt the engineer truck be able to do that?

Give the engineers bangalores to clear concertina wire. Oh yeah.
