Yeah. Do you think IRL cobra pilots need to be all that afraid of insurgents? I don't think so. It's fine as it is.

I'm not arguing from the position of some chopper whoring teamswitcher. Like I've said, the majority of the time I've spent on that map I've been an insurgant. While the A10s are hard to take down with AA, we never had issues driving off or downing the Cobras.

Im not saying Im raped by the Cobra boo hoo. I know the map. I think Ive probably been killed 5 times in total by it, if that.
And why shouldnt they fear, hell why dont we just send in the Cobras to win wars if they are that good.
I am not saying nerf anything, if anything the only thing that needs to be nerfed is the M95 respawn when the US sniper loses it.

Um, yes...They do fear insurgents. That's why they fly low and fast in 'hot' zones.JP*wasteland.soldier wrote:Yeah. Do you think IRL cobra pilots need to be all that afraid of insurgents? I don't think so. It's fine as it is.

Well I'm sure you've seen what happens when there's no ground force, and only air attacks. It doesn't work. That's why they don't just send in cobras IRL. Plus cobras are expensive.

So what they're saying is, insurgents must use teamwork in order to bring down a chopper? Sounds like exactly what I'm saying.Military officials have said that militants are increasingly targeting helicopters amid the buildup of U.S. troops in Baghdad, firing simultaneously with an assortment of weapons from different directions.

Your use of this I don't think pertains to this argument. Think about it. In the CURRENT RL war in Iraq US choppers are flying over heavily populated areas filled with mostly with innocent good people. They can't shoot every damn thing that moves. That and the enemy is not easily identifiable. Hell everything there is scary. In this game you are attacking a known enemy in an evacuated city. The scenarios are completely different and unrelateable.<<SpanishSurfer>> wrote:Um, yes...They do fear insurgents. That's why they fly low and fast in 'hot' zones.

In a conventional war engaging a known guerilla force in an area devoid of friendlies the Cobra would have little fear.

the insurgents having only **** methods of dealing with the Cobra which most of the time dont come-off.Determined wrote:Then what have we been arguing about? lol
That is why I am not moaning about 'oh noes Im getting pwned by the cobra'
I am merely saying rather than just avoid it/take cover Id like someone on my team to get a sneaky shot or two in on Cobra gunners/pilots because as it is now it is just a silly increase on K/D:r and the Cobra has nothing to fear.

They have the new, more deadly static AA, the 2 man-portable AA, and the LMGs and .50 cals.
I think they're alright as it is.
Though I would like to see the SA7 fixed, it's still workable as is.
Plus they can jihad the airstrip if they're fast.

Hey that was my rebuttal to the statement "Cobra pilots, in real life, do not fear insurgents."Determined wrote:Your use of this I don't think pertains to this argument. Think about it. In real life they wouldn't if the circumstances were the same as they are in game. The circumstance you produced does not coincide with the in game scenario. Your analogy was bad thats all.<<SpanishSurfer>> wrote:Hey that was my rebuttal to the statement "Cobra pilots, in real life, do not fear insurgents."

Nope, I said that IRL, "cobra pilots don't need to be all that afraid". And your article didn't dispute that. It showed that a great deal of coordination is required on the part of the insurgents to take down a chopper.<<SpanishSurfer>> wrote:Hey that was my rebuttal to the statement "Cobra pilots, in real life, do not fear insurgents."
