What about something like a thermite grenade put on the engine top at the back of the tank. Wouldn't that melt down into the turbines and disable the tank?

LOL, to disable a M1A2 engines, all you need is a beach towel. Cover the rear sections of the tank, and watch its overheat and burn :D

Saw a couple of pics of the M1A2 set alight by its own engine. Letme see if i could find them again

Coming from a friend of mine who's been an M1A1 tank crewman for 6 years, they're surprisingly easy to disable. An RPG-7 round to the side upper engine deck or rear can take it out, and 23mm ZSU AA shells to the same place could take out the engine.

ALSO...

Who's seen those pictures of the M1A1 tank in Iraq that ran afoul of an improvised explosive device and like, the front 1/4 of the tank was disappeared? I think US forces should get regular little sticks of C4 -- MEC forces, though, should get bigger (but less) explosive devices, maybe disguised as rocks or something. Lol. That'd be hilarious. Then everyone would be like "Oh ****, is that rock a bomb?" for every rock on every map. LOL.
