The rifled barrels of those T-72's were a problem too. Bad enough they were export models, the barrels didn't last nearly as long as an M1A1's. Worn out barrels are probbaly why their shots kept landing short. The autoloader was also a disadvantage too, due to the time for a reload. There's also the issue of how the autoloader stores ammo in a carosel that resulted in a lot of T-72's having their turrets blown off.
The lack of proper maintenance of their weapons and bad tactics seemed to be a hindrance to them. Just like Syrian SAM crews and Air Force in the Bekaa Valley against the IAF.
