My first post in these forums was a weak suggestion for some kind of old fashioned bolt action rifles. I suggested the mosin nagant, and at the time I was thinking, use this for unlocks, it will make a challenge true snipers... :-P Yes, my first post, weak right?

The variation this weapon would add sounds like a real good idea, but it would have to be made equally effective as the other weapons - Mag capacity, damage, accuracy, ROF.

Now comparing it to the G3, which whenever i fire it, it kills in 1shot or enemy bleeds out after 2seconds and dies. So you couldnt rearly make it do more damage than the G3 without making it like 50.cal damage. And ROF and mag capacity wont match G3 or AK. So.. only in accuracy could you make it better than the G3, but of course it couldnt have a scope because then the Insurgents wouldnt have anyone spamming noob tubes  So the iron sights would have to be better, i think i saw a SS of a previous version of PR. The M16 ironsights which, showed to be rearly narrow (thus better for accuracy at long range) than they are now. So something like that, and possible the small zoom you get while switching to iron sights, could be made slightly bigger than normal if possible?

I dont think the idea is to have something better than the G3, just an altrernative. Stop comparing this to the G3 it is not a G3, it is an bolt-action rifle. It would be more accurate, lower rate of fire and fewer rounds in the magazine. Yes maybe it will have the same stoping power but that is not the point. The point is to provide an alternative, not a G3 in another skin! Think of it as an M24 without a scope.

Im sorry but I'm going to do some more comparing of the G3 and Enfield

First the barrel length on the standard G3 is 450mm in .308 calibre. The most common Enfields (SMLE No. 4 etc, 5 million made) versions all had 640mm barrels in .303 calibre. I don't know the difference in ballistics between the .308 and .303 (both would probably hurt  ) The Enfield should be a nice long range weapon with very solid accuracey and stopping power. It would be better at range then the G3.

It would be a nice addition to the insurgent line up if possible to include.

Cheers,

Cheers,

Therefore you are suggesting there would be very llittle difference between the G3 and ENfield, reducing its merit for being put in the game, however IF.....

Loose the G3 and stick with all AKs - just a suggestion but.........

Now compare the average AK with a looked after and cared for Enfield - anyone with the know???????(idea being "hunter"/"markesman" spends more timing cleaning ext.).

Once comparison done, if the difference is big enough, the consider the realism of removing the G3 - insurgents do have them, but if no. are low (low usage overall) in comparison to the AK, removal might be possible OR atleast on some maps, with Enfield on more open maps and G3 on urban - crude but you get the idea, different situations/areas for different weapon load out.

SO sorry guys I jumbled my numbers when I wrote them down doing my research and based my original post opinion on that. The G3 has a 450mm barrel!!!!!!!!! So the advantage for range and fps should swing to the Enfield. This would make it a more unique weapon in game and advantages to the G3 in certain situations.

I have edited my original post to reflect this. Again so sorry. If someone on the forums lives close to me please feel free to come to my house and kick me in the pants :p I should really give up being an internet know-it-all

A bolt action rifle would be perfect. Hopefully we can get rid of that god aweful overpowered special forces kit in favor of it.

stop comparing a bolt action rifle to a G fucking 3!!!!!

its 10000000000000x closer to the M24 then it is the G3, fuck.

just make a model for the rifle and "underneath" have it be a M24 without a scope. similar damage, similar bullet drop, similar accuracy.

dont make it on some levels and not on others eather, that angers me. just make it a unlimited request kit. Or take out the AK-101 and put the rifle in. i doubt there are many AK-101s with nade launchers in the hands of Habebe.

The Ak-101 would hardly never fall into the hands of insurgents, and if it did, not in nearly sufficient quantities to warrant its own kit.

Sneak Attack relax man  , the only weapon on the insurgents currently that has long range accuracey and stopping power is the G3 in semi mode. A comparison is a natural progression in the discussion.

If you read my posts I looked into the difference between them to see if there would be a real world difference between the two and hence how they should act in game. I did a quick look online and found that the M24 has a 610mm barrel vs 640mm, has specialized rifleing in the barrel and fires match grade ammo in .308 vs non match grade ammo in .303. So to say the Enfield should just be a M24 in sheeps clothing is not valid. Stop comapring the M24 and Enfield ;-) Some real world results for the Enfield are needed to set up its parameters in game.

Im all for including this for the insurgents but thought some info is needed to better understand what it can do.
