Nice, everythig looks so good in 0.6 ! The only problem is the time that we have to wait.
Speed-of-sound modeling is already in BF2 if EAX is enabled, the distance at which he was filming was too short to notice though. Once you get 500m+, it's easily seen before heard.krekc wrote:starting to sound like the real deal!! I think a lot of the unique sound of the A-10 gun has much to do with delay: the "grunt" as it were, comes about a second after the gun has finished firing, so it actually comprises of 2 sounds, which may be difficult to capture in BF2.
they way you have it now the "grunt" comes from the Gun of the A-10 when infact the loud grunt should be an environmental sound. The existing a-10 gun sound to my ear compaired to videos i've seen sounds pretty accurate tbh, it doesn't need to be very loud, however there is no "enivronmental sound at all" in game. If you were to apply a heavy compression & a slight touch of reverb to the origonal game sound, then somehow get it to trigger as an environmental sound, like say thunder, a second after the gun finishes firing, or, say to start a few seconds after the gun starts firing. Then you would have the elusive Warthog sound captured I reckon

On another note, even though the image quality isn't the best on the video, damn look how far out to the horizon you can see the plane!
Lookforward to hearing it in 5.1 indeed'[R-DEV wrote:Katarn']Speed-of-sound modeling is already in BF2 if EAX is enabled, the distance at which he was filming was too short to notice though. Once you get 500m+, it's easily seen before heard.
Does that include the time difference between the impact sounds on the ground and the shooting sounds from the plane?'[R-DEV wrote:Katarn']Speed-of-sound modeling is already in BF2 if EAX is enabled, the distance at which he was filming was too short to notice though. Hopefully, it's very quiet in a cockpit.Outlawz wrote:btw, anything new on the A10-pilot-useless-on-VoIP-due-the-loud-engines issue?
You're serious aren't you?DirtyHarry88 wrote:Hopefully, it's very quiet in a cockpit.
I mean compared to being outside a plane, i.e. you can speak and be heard.eddie wrote:You're serious aren't you?
Headphones work wonders. I know not everyone has headphones, but its somthing to think about if you use an A-10 a lot...Outlawz wrote:btw, anything new on the A10-pilot-useless-on-VoIP-due-the-loud-engines issue?
I was not commenting on how LOUD it was. I was commenting on the sound. It is still not quite right. Though that may be a limitation inherent to BF2.'[R-CON wrote:Jaymz']What would be the real thing, louder? That's the loudest sound in 0.6.....
