It'll probably be cool for people new to gaming or younger teens, but after playing intelligent shooters I believe it'll be a pretty looking piece of garbage. Look at Insurgency. It's nothing but putting lipstick on a pig.
I'm hoping Sony's failed PS3 sends a big message to developers in the future. Your fancy graphics and nextgen engines are worthless if your game sucks.
failed PS3??? as someone who owns a PS3 and an xbox 360 (and there's a Wii in the house), i am starting to lean towards the PS3 as the best system. the xbox 360 is good, but it has some quality control issues, some systems without an HDD, and no blu-ray (the HD-DVD format wont be used for very many games, if any at all on the 360). the PS3 is a really nice piece of equipment, and there's some really sick looking games coming out. PCs for FPS...consoles for sports games and single player shit.
dont underestimate the PS3...
of course, i am going to be playing all pro football 2k8 on xbox live in one week, baby!
as for the engine that the devs go to...i dont care. i will follow wherever they go, upgrading where necessary.

2.) even if it did do you realise what kind of hardware you would need to run it at full graphics, people have trouble runniing an older bf2 graphics on their computer.. yes i agree peopel are cheap they need to spend some money and upgrade
3.) mulitplayer players are limited to 24 people, do you copy, thats 12 a side, that sucks
4) do u even realise how long it would take to make a new mod for a new engine, teh first part of project reality was realeasd ages ago and we just about getting to around 60 percent of it being finished (0.6 version)
Ive been following Crysis since August 06 so i know a bit about the game
5) this has already been mentioned around 100 times... and the answer is always a BIG NO
6) even if the DEVs wanted a new engine there are others that are much more btter suited.. unreal 3.0 engine being a great example.. check out the competition to battlefield 2 by CHAOS studios, i think its called FUEL OF WAR.. and is based on teh unreal 3.0 engine..
7) I hope that answers your query.. over and out
Eh, not everything you said it true. To clear some things up for you:
1.) Fancy Features, What do you mean by this? if your talking about the Nano-Suit then you are wrong, that is in the MP and so are all the vehicles and weapons found in SP, It has also been stated in interview that i have seen that you can enter any vehicle that you see in-game.
2.)Full graphics will require better hardware, but if you, as stated in many interviews if you where able to run FarCry on high then you will able able to run Crysis on Medium.
3.)You are wrong about 24 players. As stated in another interview crysis will be able to handle 32 players when it is released, later in the future they will increase the size to 48 and then eventually 64.
4.) .6 doesnt mean its 60 percent done....there is always a 1.1, 1.2, etc.

OK nice comments but to follow on your comments
1. im not talking about nano suit, and why would a reality mod have a nano suit for? im talking about things like the new graphical features, dont quote me but I think stuff like, the new HDR filtering, destructible buildings and less physics.. i will try and find some backing info here so please bear with me
2. no so sure here, will have to see when game comes out, but i think the games designers were being prudent here and wanted to maximise interest here.. so will have to decide on this one when it eventually comes out
3. ok.. if your info is more up to date..
4. i was again giving an approximation, the DEVs target is to make it to 1.0 but of course your right it could go on much longer, so 60 percent complete is an under estimation.. the point I was making was that it will take ages to get it to the level PR is now
5. oh there is no 5

Crysis is due to drop on September 11, this year. It will ruin on DX9 cards under Windows XP. Minimum requirements are not that high, if you can run PR decently you can run Crysis somewhat. Lowest card that the devs stated in interviews is the 6600GT.

Thank god for that.
As for PR and Crysis2, seriously, we've had enough of them threads.

Nah, EA is probably going to make this as hard-coded as BF2.

all EA is doing publishing the game, Crytek already gave 3 Devs of 3 Different mods the SDK to develope their mods, Crytek updates the SDK all the time, add new features and work on existing ones, and gives it to the Devs of each teams,

Read the PR history and see what EA/Dice did for PR.

No on the COD4 engine for many reasons.
1. Infantry combat only
2. Just no
3. engine issues.

The only thing Microsoft has done is Windows. The fact that games run mostly on Windows is a consequence of their monopoly..not the cause. BTW, the only console that uses Windows is the Xbox & 360. Wii and PS3 use Unix-based Operating Systems, and chances are that they use OpenGL as their graphics API and not Direct3D, unless they decide to code it in assembly for technical reasons.

You're the man I need to ask this question of; I NEED more than a quad core...I want as many cores as possible (Real Flow v4 takes up to 20 cores!)...I've seen mobos that handle two quad cores...but are there mobos that handle even more than that? thx...

Never develop a first person shooter with the Unreal 3 engine. That shit is hardcoded for server-side hit detection, and without lag compensation, you gotta wait around a half second, depending on your connection to the server, for your shot to finally land. Seen it in America's Army, Red Orchestra, and even Gears of War.
