Agreed. Although when you're in that situation there's a lot of other factors that come into consideration.

At the same time, I think if people watched their games from a 3rd person view they'd be like; "oh duh, that's why he killed me. I was right out in the open and didn't know it"

I don't want to judge here, but this guy named "sexie" has drawn my attention more than once with his über KDR. He usually has 75 - 4-ish scores, and this happend on 4 maps in a row.

Later on, I saw his score through the game monitor, and guess who was first on the list ?

I will try to follow him next time I see him :) He once was in my sqad, but he never spoke once, even after I talked to him.

I think a good (not pro) Battlefield 2 gamer can aim as good as one of those gay aimbots. Sometimes it's just luck or a good player. Sometimes I kill 20 people in a row, without dying, sometimes i die 5 times in a row, killed by the same guy.

Wallhacks are also worthless shit if you use the UAV and keep looking around.

Alex

btw. I registered at their forum to see what they're writing (Stats padding, etc.). Got banned at the first day. ^^

There is no UAV in Project Reality Mod. Also AIMBOTS are instantaneous aiming. They can "LOCK" onto your head a hell of a lot faster than any human player can, and at greater distances as well. This is another reason why it would be good to increase the shot pattern deviation on the rifles. That way even an aimbot can miss the target. It would really put back the human factor of imperfectness :) How you like that word? hehehe...

today 18. july on euro myxo server. few seconds later i got the frogfoot but the commanderhacking ******* kept spamming down so many cars that the server crashed.
seriously, the influx of new players is immense, which is alright though.
but many of them are horrificly immature and on such a low level that its just frightening.
I mean look at some of the names a few new boardmembers have. its wrong.

Being killed from nowhere, then seeing someone run by my body, shooting randomly into the brush and hearing my teammates die over and over. He was using an SKS rifle. I think he had 9 kills against my squad in this bush with that weapon..against spawning UK troops with full auto. I really don't believe he was in line-of-sight but I cannot prove it. I think he was using some sort of auto-aim as he ran through the brush.
I sometimes fire randomly into bushes on Mestia, if I think there's guys there, and sometimes get a few kills. Although I do remember seeing a guy when I was playing Militia who seemed to be suspiciously good with the sks.

Bad elitism is wanting everyone not at your level to go away. Good elitism is helping people not at your level to reach that level, for the good of the game and the community. But I'm pretty sure you knew very well what I meant.

Considering the subject at hand, there is a very thin line between the judgment and the accusation. Being accused publicly in the community and having your name being (wrongly) spread around is, in my opinion, worse than the "sentence" of being banned form servers itself.

And yes, laws apply to forums as well. The Internet is not some kind of gray zone where no laws are applicable.
You would actually pay some attorney to fight for you in court cause someone said something about your good name. You must have more money than sense. I've known lots of guys that have been accused of cheating, but they didn't and it didn't bother them that someone was calling them a cheater cause they knew different. I say call'em all out, if you suspect someone of cheating then call them out so the admins can start watching and getting screen shots. If they are in the clear then good for them.

So is it ok for a software program like Punkbuster to scan your drive and/or memory looking for cheats, but it's not ok for someone to say you cheated?

Additionally I'd go so far as to say that anyone on any map/round with high scores and high KDR should be checked automatically. Even if it were me (which isn't very likely) with a KDR of 50 to 10 for a whole round. At least then everyone would know for sure that I did it honestly.

One last note. Cheating is happening on lots of servers almost any night of the week. Problem is that cheaters are so lame, that they aren't even good a cheating. They have aimbots and wallhacks galore, and their scores still suck. If I were them I'd just shoot myself instead.

W4chund wrote:I saw 4 Cheaters in PR:

1.
There was one Player who shoot me 5 Times in a row, im prone in high gras and crouching, he´s standing 150 Metres away with his APC. I´ve tryed 5 times from different angles to reach the APC, he always needed one shot if i where in firing Range. No other Enemy has seen me before or his Commander, cause his Commander was a friend of mine.

2.
I´ve tryed to bypass Enemy Troops, cloaked with Trees and high Gras....1 Enemy waited at a good Position and shoot me. After respawn i´ve tryed another Route....the same Player shoot me again.
We´ve lost the Round, i was the last Player, hidden far away from a Flag....the same Player coming to my postion and shoot me.

3.
I was Commander, using my Zoom and looking what my Troops are doing. There was One Player who always knows where the Enemys are.....he´s got prone in the right Time, he´s waiting at a Corner and eliminate a enemy Squad, he´s found very good hidden RP. And the most of his Targets wasn´t spotted by friendly or me before.

4.
A Sniper in my Team where on the Crane on Steel Thunder, he´s shooting Enemys who coming from Village. I´m climbing up the Ladder to bring him Ammunition, he´s looking at Village all the Time, suddenly he´s turnig around and shooting 2 Enemys who´s coming from Storage. We´ve had no Commander at this Time, he where not in a Squad, the both from Storage wasn´t spotted before. A few seconds later he´s turned to North and shooting 1 Enemy coming up from the River, not spotted before.......and so on.

Be sure, there where Hackers/Cheater in PR and BF2.

The fin between skilled Player and Cheater is very small, but its possible to recognize Skill or Cheat. In PR it´s easier like in BF2 or other Games.
Grass does not render much past 90 meters or so. Also he could have been on TS or Ventrillo with someone that was telling him where he was seeing the enemy. I'm not defending anyone, I'm just saying that this could be a possiblity. Remember what I said about the grass, it will save you butt.

LOL. People are pretty ignorant of the law regarding this...

You'll have an extremely difficult time trying to prove damages for libel and slander unless you hold a public office or public spotlight position. In fact, even if you were a celebrity it'd be very hard to collect which is why people rarely sue for slander and libel. As a non public person, what are the 'damages' incurred if someone accuses you of cheating? What could you possibly win in court that you've been denied because of those accusations. You can't sue people b/c they said something false, you have to prove damages were done b/c of it.

For the average person, lawyers will NOT take those cases on pro-bono and after advising you not to file it in the first place, if they decide to take your case you'll pay that lawyer much more than you could have ever won in the first place.

Get over it.

Some people just enjoy pissing people off, I don't get why they'd pay for it though.

Many people play with low lighting. IMO this is just as bad as something like a name tag hack. I wonder how many of the people condemning these hackers also happen to play with low lighting.

Just buy everyone a new high end video card and they will be glad to max out the settings. Setting lighting to low is NOT hacking, but purchasing a cheating program is. Do you have one?

I run with shadows off, lighting low and dynamic low. Why? Because 15 fps is shit. I would love to play on high with a decent frame rate, so before you accuse everyone of hacking, I'd say you're a hacker!!

Not to mention, that BF2 likes to adjust shaders a lot, then I end up with no shadows and Low settings "for optimum performance on my system"

20:1 is a great score.
But it doesn't come close to 78:5 that some cheater got on Mestia a couple of weeks ago.
I run everything on low to medium otherwise I can't play.
I think having a sh1tty rig is a detrement not an advantage.
I can't believe that when engaging at 300m + the guy running all high settings does not have a HUGE advantage over me.

Having a 1337 rig doesn't give you 1337 skillz, that's why.
