That was probably done on a Sandbox mod map.

DOAW wrote:Wasteland, theres a couple of combat scenes in FMJ. There's the firefight at the airbase at the beginning of Tet, a couple of smaller firefights in Hue including the one where the tank is blasting away at the front of a building, and the big sniper scene. Besides, you said military movies, not war movies.
I must admit, when I watched that movie, I was at what may be the most fucked up I've ever been. When I was most heavily into drugs, I didn't drink very much. That night I started drinking, and suddenly got very ambitious about my drug use....
Counting alcohol, I was on six different drugs that night.
So yeah, I don't remember too much of that movie.

Well, that'll do it. Try not to hurt yourself.

I'm confused about fastroping not being possible in BF2. In the CQB mod, the SF gets a grappling hook, and you can "fastrope" down that in order to get down from whatever structure you got up on.

Oh, don't worry about me. That was a lifetime ago.

It's more about exiting the vehicle and automatically being attached to the grappling hook IRRC.

it was allright but like every one said it was bs
the tv series "Tour of duty" was fairly good, but also not very realistic.
But then again most millitary tv serires are just made for entertainment and not realism.

Can a vehicle have multiple entry points? If so, couldn't you have a "rope" (actually a thin rectangle without collision) that hung off the side of the helo, and there was an entry point at the end of the "rope".
For SP/COOP only mods (ie: PRSP) it could be ~30m to allow friendlies to enter the terraphobic helos. I don't know how many times I've died of water damage in SP, because a retarded marathon swimming bot had trouble getting on the helo.
For MP, make it about 1-2m.
Before somone whine that boarding a helo by a rope is unrealistic (and me responding by asking them what have they been smoking), I KNOW that helos drop ropes/ladders for entry. I watched a Sea Hawk do so at last years Fort Lauderdale Air & Sea Show. The SH-60 is
essentially the same base as the UH-60 (ref: fas.org).
Here is a video showing a landbased version at a different air show.
Perhaps, "roped" BHs would only be available on maps with rugged terrain or lots of trees. *shrug*

Aye, unlike Over There, BoB had refrences from a book(s) (Im pretty sure.) Which helped them when they filmed.
HBO is currently producing a mini-series based on Generation Kill
