Zatar Wetlands, Sunday:
Last night with my squad, we blew up a bridge to deny enemy armor access to the front. Shortly after it's demolition, a tank starts coming our way...basic convo on VOIP:

"Enemy tank inbound"
Roger that -take cover until he passes

(silence)

-what's the position of that tank?

(silence)

"Ughh...<inaudible>...I think he fell in the hole"
-What? Really? He drove straight into the hole?!"
"Roger that. Tanks is underwater"

It was hard to stop laughing as we ran to the bridge to verify the tank was, quite literally, underwater. And as I'm laughing I spot Dumb and Dumber swimming to shore. We hosed 'em both while getting a good chuckle out of that situation. Totally unexpected.

Still though. How do you drive a tank over a blown out bridge?
ROFL! That other guy was me. Sorry for the inaudible stuff, I mumble when my mind gets blown from the stupidity of others :p

The other night I was playing kufrah with a single tank for the whole round. I sat in the middle of the north village and just completely raped the surrounding USMC tanks and troops. (We had just capped both intermediate flags and heading to village) It really amazed me how hordes of marines started taking firing positions right next to me, like I wasn't even there. Thank god for repair trucks and coax.

actually i have a real "Are you kidding me!" moment. So I join a server on Al Basrah and end up as USMC. so i spawn and attack where the entire rest of my team is attacking: the village. Funnily enough, it is not well defended and my team had like 2 tanks and 4 APCs just sitting around way out on the perimeter of the base. dee...dee...dee after a few attempts at being the only one capturing i gave up and switch teams with the idea of getting ALL the US forces outta that base. but as soon as i switch, they start getting smart and use the tanks and APCs. they begin capturing and took at least half of the CPs. we still won...barely...but wow "Are you kidding me!"

Perhaps the problem is on your end of the connection as there have not been any recent reports of DL corruption.

But OT, that is one hell of a score shadesuit...KUDOS !
And as the windshield melts

Actually, it generally is smart to keep the APC's and Tank's away from the main battle see'ing as how they have zoom and if they are far out they make smaller targets. But if what you mean is that they werent shooting and no one was in them etc then well disregard this post :P

im a freakin gun with the tank. i shoot so many heles outa the air with tanks and everytime they go down like a brick. but the best time ever was on Kashan. i was alone in my tank (No one was any good to drive) up in the hells and out in front of me a blackhawk is dropping off some inf on a bunkers roof. so i line him up but before i get a shot in "most" of his cargo hop out and he lifts of but only up. then he stops and starts coming back down for the last one to drop. Now remember his squad was still waiting on the bunker roof for the last one. so i did what im best at and shot that hele right out of the air. then the black remains came crashing down ontop of the other 3 still on the ground and took out the last of them.

I just pissd myself laughing.

HIGH FIVE! Good times buddy, that was great. I started a post over on Tactical Gamer about us getting yelled at for disrupting supply lines...remember the other team said we were too deep in enemy territory?

http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlefiel ... sorry.html

I think we were in the clear - that was a legitimate tactic

LOL. I can picture something off the movie True Lies...the gunner on top yelling "Stop! Stop! The bridge is out!!"; banging on the tank while the oblivious driver tries to stomp on the brakes as they teeter over the edge

For PR I play exclusively on Tactical Gamer server as "vanity11"

For ArmA I play exclusively on Tactical Gamer (coop and evo) as "Vanity"

Damn right it was legitimate. We stopped all sufficient flow of vehicles from their base as well as distracted their commander by letting him argue over our right to be there! High five returned.

I'm just curious about this notion that if I create a squad called AIR, everyone is required to join my squad and follow my orders.

Here's one moment that really got me.

I was on a roughly populated server, only about a dozen or so guys, playing EJOD Desert. I was USMC and my squad was doing very well. Before we assaulted West City, my SL placed a rally point way over to the west in the hills. It would be later that a lone T-90 tank, with one guy inside it, would come over and park on the hills. Luckily, he never saw our rally point and start to shoot out everyone who tried to step in West city. So my SL assigned me and another guy to take out the tank while they distract him from the city.

I spawn on our rally as an engineer and the other guy spawns rifleman. I see the tank a good distance away so I knew I could easily sneak up on him. So over VOIP I tell him to approach quietly. We do so successfully. The tank's attention was completely directed over to West City. Suddenly, the guy tells me to place a mine right under his tank. So I think 'Yeah! That's great.' I place the mine dead center under the tank. I crawl out and place another mine behind him. Then I thought he probably won't run over them any time soon so I placed both C4 packs on the back of his tank.

Suddenly, the tank turret turns in our direction. The guy must have heard the C4 being applied so I tried to bug out but the tank instantly backed up OVER the mines not setting one off. I waited the appropriate time by the way. So I thought screw it and tried to push the detonator but ended up as swiss cheese.

The tank ran over both mines and didn't explode. I really did say "You got to be kidding me!" over VOIP.

EJOD back in 0.5

I spawn in on 4 different locations and all 4 times get killed by artillery. (in a row, by the way) Within a timeframe of 10 minutes I get killed by arty in total 7 times.

It got to the point that I felt like the smelly kid nobody wanted to stand next to. Everytime a squaddie saw me they ran to the hills until I got killed by arty. AGAIN.

More like a "WTF" moment, but:

Whenever I shoot the exposed underside of a tank with an AT4, only to find that it did absolutely bupkiss, and then I get killed by the damn tank.

Shouldn't AT4s, like, I dunno, turn the tank crew into a puddle with one shot?
