HABO3 wrote:god damn that video is funny
I read this thread yesterday and passed on commenting on it because I thought Habo3 was laughing and agreeing with my thoughts; that the video was staged with the exception of maybe a couple of still shots of dead insurgents added at the end.

look at how freakin white their arms are, do those guys ever get any sun up in Canada? And the guy in the blue t-shirt with the Rolex watch wha?...and that over weight outta shape pecker-head in brown to the left swaying back in forth on his massive body.

What about in the end when they are praying? They're standing with their hands in front of them like a bunch of protestants before a ball game. If they were Muslim they would have knelt. Hell I could make a better propaganda film than that and I wouldn't even have cover everyone's head in a hood.

So--all those supersonic cracks from incoming fire were faked?

Yeah, that's what I was wondering too. Maybe a mash-up of stuff that -is- real and some fake stuff?

1) Yes. While I didn't agree with the invasion of Iraq, the coalition forces there now are keeping the country from sliding fully into a genocidal civil war. More respect is due to the people keeping this from happening than the people trying to make it happen. You can talk about shades of gray all you like, but moral ambiguity does not exist in this case.

2) Except for the still shots at the end (which I stopped watching at), you don't see anybody get shot or die in this video. You see a poorly planned attack get decimated. This is different from a video of a sniper zooming in on somebody and then shooting them in the head, where you watch the soldier die.

I just watched it again and I'm convinced it's staged. Those guys are just too white to be living at around 30° latitude and in and near the Arabian desert. More likely Canada's Great White North.

#1: I'm pretty sure I can see olive trees in the background at the beginning.

#2: Airsoft bullet belts and RPGs?

#3: Where in Canada can you find a desert?

#4: "What about in the end when they are praying? They're standing with their hands in front of them like a bunch of protestants before a ball game."
CLICKY

#5: Arabs can have pale skin too (I've even seen blond and red haired arabs), also there have been numerous reports of Chechens in Iraq.

#6:You see the same cars in the after math as you see in the firefight scene.

#7:You see the similar PG-7 rounds in the after math as you see in the first scene.

#8: You see a dead man with a camera in his hand at the end.

Not to be argumentative about it bosco but, does that actually qualify it as authentic? Do you think they actually care whether a propaganda video is authentic or not if it slants toward their agenda*

*When they start showing body bags coming back from the War then I'll re-think their bias toward furthering the War and aiding in military recruitment.

#1 Pretty sure don't cut it.

#2 Don't know about the air-soft bullet belts lol, but I'm sure the producers especially if they were military were able to snag a few of those.

#3 Who said that it was filmed in a desert?

#4 Q. Can you give a complete description of the performance of prayer?
A. Yes. A Prayer consists of either two, three or four Rak'ats, and a Rak'at is performed thus:
(1) I stand erect, facing the direction of Ka'ba in Mecca, and after having the niyyat, (the intention) in my mind of what prayer I am about to offer and preferably uttering it to myself;
(2) I raise both of my hands up to the ears and, saying "Allahu Akbar," and then bring them down and place the right hand upon the left below the navel.
(3) I then recite:

(a) Subhanak-Allahumma wa bihamdika wa tabarakasmuka wa ta'ala jadduka wa la ilaha ghairuka.

******Didn't see that action ^ besides after the above action they go prone in complete surrender to Allah.******************************

#5 Don't dispute that fact that some semitic people are light skinned or that insurgents of European decent aren't involved, I'm pointing out that those guys are to light skinned to have been living and operating in Sun drenched Iraq.

#6 So what does that prove?

#7 Again what does that prove about whether or not the video was staged or not.

#8 One shot of a dead guy with a camera don't prove anything. At least not in a court of law or to any reasonable thinker. In fact that was by far, most clever of the producers of that video. I mean come on man, what kind of brain-fart was that to place a camera in a "dead" actors hand?

So with the knowledge that some Muslims (not Arabs) are white, the only thing you have to back up your claim of "fake" is the prayer, correct?

Well I imagine there would be regional variations on prayers, as well as completely new methods of praying.

Nope, what alerted me primarily is the lightness of their complexion after supposidly living in that Sunny climate.(I'm German/Irish/English and my skin darkens considerably when I spend time in sun drenched southern climates, especially deserts) Other than the Prayer postures, the prayer was just not formal enough for what appears to be a production made for an Islamic audience if in fact it were authentic.

There are some controversial studies on that. No way of knowing the truth really.

In your simple black and white, good and evil world maybe.

Mofos never heard of a tripod, or one of those newfangled 20th century Western cameras where you can look at a second screen instead of putting your eyeball behind the camera. There's almost no point to watching a 'combat' video if you don't see someone get shot.

I don't like my porn softcore, and I don't like my violent videos shaking worse then Michael J. Fox and with less visibility then a Micheal Bay film. Without seeing anything, it might as well be the magical leprechauns fighting the seven dwarves for all the documentary it is.

At least stick your hand with the camera over a bern or the truck, or something. Couldn't do much worse then the sky or the dirt.

The reason you don't see that a lot is that we aren't allowed to keep video we take that shows that. Before we rotate back home we have our computers inspected for material like that. However, this time around I'll have several alternate forms of storage (PSP/MP3 player) so who knows. But its still illegal anyways.
