The devs could fix it indirectly by reducing the draw distance, but I think in this case we can live with a few graphics glitches. In fact that trade-off may be why such large maps are possible but not present in vBF2.
LOL, I think you were the one I read this from originally in another post on the topic. Sorry I was a little quick to reply and get the info out there.

It happens to me too but i play on all high. But my AA is off...so ima try to turn that up next time i play although i have heard that AA kills your performance.
AA has an impact on fps for sure. However you can set it in increments. I find 2AA gives you a nicer image for a marginal hit in fps. Once I step up to 4AA it starts to be a bit of an issue on some maps for my comp. Just run FRAPS and do a few runs to see if bogs you down enough to be a problem. For me BF2 needs a bare minimum of 2AA as it is way to jaggy out of the box where a lot of other games don't need it as bad.
