whit M40A1 i kill a MEC @ 900 Meters... thats took me 2 shots (1st to correct bullet drop...second right on target ) i know i have to use the scope to correct the trajectory but i think sniper riffle bullet drop start at 600M so from 6 to 9 there 300 meters of drop... is there any math i can do to find wich drop point i have to use ? i know IRL sniper can adjust there scope to got the perfect aiming... but in PR we cannot..

Could you teach me how to correct bullet drop using the first shot? i have no idea how to do that. I don't think theres tracer or anything. CAn you see the bullet hit the floor the dust effect at 800m? I think maybe you could test the bullet drop and formulate some formula sheet which you put in front of you and use before each shot. lol

OFFICIAL WIKI GUIDE OF P.R. wrote:Sniper Rifles
Sniper Rifles are the most accurate infantry weapons in the world. Used by only the most skilled of marksman, they can take down an enemy from huge ranges not possible with a normal Assault Rifle. Sniper Rifles are Single Shot, bolt action weapons so you need to cycle the bolt each time you fire. A marksman needs to take into account the drop of the bullet over extreme distances in order to maintain lethal accuracy.
Important: Sniper Rifles in Project Reality are "zeroed" at 600m. With the BF2 engine this means that you will only have to compensate for the bullets trajectory at distances greater than this.
Start by read on it

and i have 2 8800 GTS 640 Meg so i dont see gun and stuff... but i see bullet hit pretty far.
So if you play like me... when i got sniper kit... i create my own squad, ok is not realy TEAMWORK but i need the attack marqer on targer to calculate distance...if you know the distance of you're target... you have better chance to hit it...and like i said in my first post, i dont know how to calculate in the scope...so i shoot 2 time to hit target... i'm looking on P.R. forums for "sniping guide" -> > >> > >

I fired (at the right angle) and the bullet went all the way around the (PR) planet (it's round too, just a bit smaller) and hit me in the back of my head.
Then I woke up

Got the centre of a target at 150 yards at the age of 16 with a Lee Enfield .303. Does that count?
PS That was a very lucky shot.

So Red Halibut, tell me how nice that rifle is, other than its stupendous recoil?

I don't remember the recoil being that much more than a 12-bore, actually, but then it was 24 years ago, when I was an active windsurfer. I remember the cheek-piece was uncomfortable as the guy wouldn't let me move it. I don't know if that would help you to identify which version it was. I also remember that the trigger required more pressure than I thought, and I remember two distinct stages to it.
I just remember it feeling "right". Being wood and not plastic, there was a "warmth" to it. I remember being impressed with the build quality, being deafened by the sound (this was the early 80's in Northern Ireland, we didn't wear ear defenders) and I remember the sound of thunder rolling back from the hills around.
That's about it to be honest. Sorry I can't give you more.
Oh, there's one thing I remember clearly. The smell! It was ... I don't know another word for it ... seductive. I know that is not unique to the rifle in question, but you know what I mean.

But not seduced by a smooth cocking action ;) ....... i have read that it is easy and quick to pull the bolt back, with stories of some soldiers aiming and firing 40 shots in 1 min, doubt they let you do that but all the same.

he he he.
At the time I hadn't enough experience to distinguish a smooth cocking action from a bit of rough

so I can't really shed any light on that one.
I do know that the next time I was up there (we were on good terms with the local Army garrison so we got to go up into Gortin Glen occasionally) I got to fire an SLR and that felt sort of disappointing by comparison, although it still made a big bang.
ON EDIT: A quick google confirms that the SLR I referred to was an L1A1

The furthest shot I made was laying on top of one of the destructable houses south of vcp shot a guy on the SAW with SVD. Couldn't even see him just shot where I thought the SAW was.
