1.You don't get a lot of points in Vanilla
because if you did everyone would be a 4 star general.
2.Get used to a 4 digits in the scores, the patch's been out for a few days only,-give it about a month or so then complain(or not)

Getting 1000 may seem awkard for most as we are used to seeing 3 digits or vanilla mostly 2 digits. Personally i felt so too its only by killing bots i get such scores. but i think ppl will get over it sooner or later.

ROFL
I got 4 000 000 in 3D Pinball just by flipping a ball for half an hour into the right direction

Much appreciated. Being a good driver is now rewarded! Isn't that cute?

I really enjoy the new points system, It makes keeping your squad on track easier and new players see 1200 score guys with a 10-2 kd and are like what did they do right? so they watch them and they learn about team work. I had a guy it was his first day of pr and he was playing amazing just because I think he understood the point of pr and didn't use his vbf2 mentality.

I joined the 10th Mtn server the other day, joined up a one-man squad, where the guy transported people around Kashan with the MEC transport. First thing he tells me, that this has to be the best thing he did.
I ask him, what specifically and he says, that its transporting people with his chopper. 1.) They get to the desired position in no-time and capture flags with ease (for some reason all infantry squads didn't have a Vodnik to drive around :/)
2.) He gets a ton of points for it.
So it does work, despite the no teamwork score bug

The hard thing at the moment is the negative score seems to be amplifyed also ?
So a server which has a kick limit for negative score is going to be twice as tough now I think

About the vehicle TK, what happens when Mr Happy drives over a mine/red power-up icon in a nice shiney MBT?
Is this going to lead to engineers getting auto-kicked all the time?

Guess those servers have to overlook their limits and preferences.

That's not a point bug, thats a playerbug, whatever you do you get players acting like this. And I'm sure it was worst before when everyone was after (solo) capping flags with little tactic behind it.
Anyway he's a transporter and he only need a gunner in his squad. After that he does a good team effort with transporting troops. The APC points will eventually decrease when the spawnpoint gets removed.

If insanely large numbers in the scoring are a problem for the BF2 engine, is it possible to just (for example) knock all the score multipliers etc by a factor of 10, so someone scores 0.1 for a kill rather than 1? Or apply a divisor to the global score that knocks it back to 2/3 or 3/5ths of the raw score before displaying it?

That was always the case

it happend also that the apc i blew up was exploding right next to 2 friendly (unmanned) jeeps(militia pickups), it brought me tons of neg points. next round 2x a shinyhappyguy in a shinyhappyapc drove into a mine i placed far away from any of our vehics should move. its easy now to get -200 and more without rly being responsible for the shid that happend. veryvery frustrating
what i rly like is the neg score for loosing valuable vehics.
Scoring system improved but still flaws

There is some points I want to make about the scoring system. Really positive for the teamwork points.
But one thing that have cut me is sometimes I do SF Squads. And we usually end up with very few points. One time it destroyed the strategy in the beginning of the fight, where I ordered my men to secure both bridges at Qwai River with mines and H-AT. Instead of listening they ran to capture the Mine post, even though later they followed every order. So it struck me everyone is interested in gaining points from capturing flags instead of doing something strategic. And on Qwai River it's really important to take out or cut the road off for the PLAs tanks as USMC don't have any tanks.
To continue later we lost Mine got it back with another squad that captured it, rest of the Platoon was at Pig Farm (base). Our squad was between Mine and Government Office, there we set out a big minefield. That lead that we halted both enemy tanks that where heading for Mine that would easily capture it with their firepower, also we took out the enemy's Command Truck twice that was approaching Mine and would act as a big spawn point. We did something really strategic outside the post, had we operated inside we would lose. The thing is we didn't get any point for our minefield and we didn't get much points for taking out the Command Truck. Instead the other squad that captured Mine got at least 90 points just for changing the look of the flag.
As I say it's too much point for capturing a post. Those that are not capturing the post get nothing, thats not fair. As they are maybe operating 300-500m outside and halting enemy infantry's approach. I think everyone should get points for capturing a post. Those that are not at the place sure do other things that will simplify attacking or defending a post.
PR is really not about taking posts. You don't gain much of it if it's not a ticket bleed.
I rather see much higher points for those that have killed 8 enemies and died 1. That those that die 20 times and have killed 4 enemies, and keep on spawning on the post to defend it. PR is about tickets and if you take tickets from the enemy and keep your life intact you will have bigger chance of winning the round.
I have also seen rounds where we have hold on to only 1-2 posts at least have of the round and end up winning.
Also there should be much higher points for taking out strategic things like rally points, commander assets, artillery, vehicles...

The points system is a bit messed but ultimately it doesnt really matter anyway.
The tickets system where the 'losing' side wins is confusing. In order for gaining flags to have any worth you must start a 'bleed' on the other team, where they constantly lose tickets just because they have no flags. Usually that means they only have the UCB
The only other way to gain from having flags is to build bunkers on them and they give 5 tickets every 15 mins I think. (maybe that should be increased)
The reason the losers win is that defending is easier then attacking, they die less. The CO has to build bunkers or wipe the other team off the map.
