A high central tower perhaps? Atm, when I do defense duty, we often only have a couple of people there. If we're lucky, one or two warriors, and then one or more people on foot. With so little people, it can be damn hard to secure a full 360° perimeter.

The VCP is easy to defend, the major problem is that no one want's to stay and defend it
And since it is easy to defend, once insurgents get it, it is hard to take back
But 0.6 is way much better than 0.5
0.5 was only fun for the american's, the insurgents got raped by cobras, a10, tank's etc...
The RPG was **** on 0.5
Now on 0.6 the insurgent's can fight back, the RPG realy kill's, a good RPG squad with one white techinical can take almost every IFV out of the map
The major problem is that no one want's to defend, only that, but that is not the map fault

That's true, but who do you think the enemy is right now? It sure as hell isn't the Brazilians or the Japanese. It is the gun totting insurgents, terrorist, Iraqis, Taliban, and Al Qaeda who mainly carry the AK47 or AK varient.
Those movies are based off of something and that something is fact.

Yeh they do actually attack control points but they dont capture them it'd be an ambush and fall back if anything and its pretty much plain land around the vcp so its not really ideal for an insurgent ambush. Only problem i see with makin the vcp uncappable is insurgents wont bother attacking it.. but at least the fighting will be more focused within the city.

I think the reason why they are never captured in real life is cos they are always heavily defended, like they should be ingame

Never played Al basrah 0.5, but it sounds like it would be if 3 challengers were put into helmand.

Well, wasn't always that bad, you'd just had to get USMC organized.

people are just to use to US dominated games where the US has everything and pwns the rest. .6 is sooooo much better , its all about the inf , no rape in 2x cobras , no rape with A-10s and tanks and APCs. its just inf vs inf , fighting in compounds and city's , searching for stuff as a squad. not 1 guy in a A-10 with 50 kills.

Not a bad idea. Although a new static would have to be made... if so make sure it's destroyable if 6 IEDs hit it. (IE it collapses in half)

One thing, when it's a real military force against real insurgents, terrorists and suicide bombers.
Another is a 10 year old kid wanting to fly an A10 and pwn the weak Insurgent team. Especially, when the Insurgents are human players.

Thats why I think the UK Army should have tanks, at least one. Nothing the insurgents have could resist that and they should not be holding points, isnt that why its insurgency not AAS.
The whole insurgent team should be ambushing, gun and run. At best an annoyance and delaying the destruction of their caches. A game of hide and seek is obviously what it should be closest to and there is no point in a game of hide and seek where you get to destroy the point the seeker starts off from to win the game

but thats how it is in real life.... we have A-10s and cobras... and we use them.. its not like the insurgents call up the geneva convention and complain that its not fair...

I love .6 Basrah however I do think the Brits need some tanks or an apache to force the Insurgents to adopt a more 'sneaky' gamestyle. Don't get me wrong, I don't want a return to 2 A-10's, 2 Cobra's and gigantic columns of tanks, but in .6 the Insurgents fight more like a conventional force rather than an irregular one and thats because they just don't fear British firepower enough.
As an RPG whore I find basrah very easy to dominate since I can destroy the IFV's in short order. However if I saw a challenger rumbling down the main road to the city I'd **** my pants.

What about making the VCP flag like the Village flag was in 0.5? The insurgents have control of the VCP at the beginning of the round and UK guys have to cap it. Once it's capped it can't be taken back by insurgents and the search for the caches can begin.
Or make it like the North VCP (Current VCP) was in 0.5. Mark it as a UK controlled area but make it uncapable. Few insurgent guys would surely use it to ambush British APC coming from the base but most fighting would IMO still take part in the city.
Just my 2 cents
