I'm just curious. We all know that all the missiles in BF2 are heatseekers, and they lock on to a heat sig. All the planes in BF2 have this heat sig at the very rear of the plane where the exhaust are. But on the harrier, the exhaust are located on the very sides in the center of the jet. Im just wondeirng how will miessiles react to this? dose any 1 here acturly know?

I know in BF2 that most of my missles only miss the plane by a fraction of a mm cos the heat sig is on thwe very rear of the jet. Now on the Harrier the exhausts are on the very sides, so dose this mean that they are going to be a very easy rarget or what?

Also, dose any 1 know what bombs the harrier has loaded onto it in that pic :D

I don't think it makes too much of a difference, especially seeing as most of the missiles are fire and forget.

To add to your second question I think they are GP 1000lb bombs, could be wrong though!

there is only a very, very slight diffrence in a miss like this:

and a hit like this:

If u watched that demo after the first missle only missed by a tiny, tiny bit but after it missed it went off somwhere. IF the heat sig was more into the plane, it would have easily hit the tail thin or somthing.... What im thinking is that as now the heat sig is in the cent, a missle casing from behind will now not have the prob of aiming for somthing thats BEHIND the plane and somthing thats in the middle of it, giving it a huge target of any bit arround that heat sig if it stiks it which it has more chance as now, instad of stuff only behind the heat sig, there is stuff all around it :o

LOL! Classic screenshot to be honest! Entering someone's exhaust is illegal in SO many countries!

interesting the second picture is.

an AAM or even a SAM would got off probably at the distance of the missile in the first pic probably even furver out, to maximise the damage to the rear of the aircraft.( it works like a shotgun and destroys the control surfases.)
