I've read trough the thread and I have to say that most of the ideas are ridiculous. Making so complicated rules for something so simple has no point.

Too bad it hasn't got many replies.

I say keep the insurgency mode as simple as it can be so players will actually understand what they are supposed to do.
Give people the toys and make them kill insurgents not constantly looking for caches and rushing/defending the VCP. If this is a reality mod why not aim for the most realistic gameplay? Right now the insurgents are played as crippled conventional army without scoped guns and body armor. This just isn't right they should use the urban environment for cover and caches for ammo and pickup kits. If they are destroyed they'll have hard time rearming RPG's, SVD's etc.
Making the caches low priority will force people to enter the city and face the insurgents but then there have to be tanks and choppers to control the surrounding areas so the insurgents don't get spread out in the open and stay in the city.

Wouldn't need to be too simple if players bothered to read the manual before playing.

As for Insurgents, they're NOT a crippled conventional army if the players using them are using the kits right - but most don't- they charge at VCP and expect to win against riflemen, mounted MGs and snipers.

On a good round of Basrah I can usually clock up three to four Warrior kills and a similar number or more of Landrovers. I rarely bother shooting the British troops, because my weapon's that **** in my hands; but stop the sods getting close with the heavy weaponry in the first place, and you're onto a winner.
