and yes...please please please find a way so u can drive jeeps into merlins or chinooks and then u can drive out the back.it would actually be rediulously amazing and the assult capabilities would be awsome x
I don't believe its possible. It would probably be impossible becasue the collision indicator tends to push vehciles apart if they hit. All to do with the games physic/collision engine.
If anyone can prove me wrong, please do.

the ch53 can too.
That's actually a photo of an old USAF (paint scheme makes it recognizable) HH-3 "Jolly Green Giant," an offshoot of the Sea King, which could make water landings (the Coast Guard used it for a long time, too, as the "Pelican"). The slightly downward turned tailboom was distinctive of the HH-3. The H-53s are bigger and the H-53Es are ginormous.
The
unprepared (i.e., without buoyancy bags or similar) floatation capability of the Navy and Marine Corps Sea Stallion (H-53D) and Super Stallion/Sea Dragon (H-53E) I'm unsure of. Have not seen a highly authoritative source that confirms them for sure. An active duty Pave Low flight engineer confirmed to me that the USAF MH-53J/M (which is based on the older H-53D airframe) cannot make a non-emergency water landing due to the increased weight of the PAVE systems package.
As for the floatation / water landing capabilities of the Merlin, I have not seen information or photographs showing it.

cool
to the guy whowas wondering if merlins are amphibious capable, i jsut asked my mum and no they're not. in fact nor is the sea king (yes even the naval version) the side air aids are simply to keep it upright if it has to emergency land on water
however the merlin and sea king can land on water if the rotors are still over idle. as long as there is lift to keep them from sinking, then again im sure most helicopters can do that.
anyway theres your answer from my commander mummy
x

I don't believe most current versions of the Chinook are capable of that. That was an earlier version which was in trial and use by special forces such as the US Marine Force Recon and SEALs which was never fully put into production. Again, please prove me wrong.

what are you implying Oh and again the chinook is technically hovering in that pic
Posted: 2006-01-03 21:42
by Evilhomer
the chinook has lowered is aft into the sea and is partially submerged, so the marines squad can just drive into the back of it.
