Yea I'd really like to see it in, it's quite unique looking, and specific to the British
What's the difference between the LSW and the DMR versions of the SA80 series then?
And yeah fuck all the British political parties you have my vote.

The British LSW (Light Support Weapon) is now referd to as the DMR (Designated Marksmen Rifle).
Quite right too. This weapon is hugly powerful for a 5.56mm rifle and extremly accurate. Its accuracy is more like that of a sniper rifle.
As a light machine it is not to good becasue of being fed by a 30 round mag. the minimi taking its place is far better with 200 rounds if not as accurate or powerful at least it can give longer continuous bursts of fire.
So there we are the four man fire team: 1 x SA80A2, 1 x SA80A2 with UGL, 1 x Minimi light machine gun and 1 x DMR (designated marksmen rifle).
The Worlds best infantry four man fire team!
Wheres the flame thrower ?
language!

For the mag issues on the GPMG can we just have say a static box or somthing? like on the PKM? i really think the GPMG should be implemented to the individual soldier.

Yeah I thought they were the same thing, just the way people were talking about earlier threw me off a little.
I'd like to see whatever done with GPMG to have it in game to be honest aswell.

Erm, fixed....
The American key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Squaddies useing glue, The Sun would go mental!

I am sure many PR players have been calmly awaiting the L22A2 since PR released the first set of British kits. Be enduring, the Anglo arsenal is sure to expand, I hope for the Medic and Support to get their SUSATs.
I thought you couldn't unload a Garand?
Too much Call of Duty?

Anyway, you have commited something which is something not so easily forgiven. You misidentified an M733 "Colt Commando" as an M4! An M4!
You sir, deserve to be modernized. (see my sig).
All Armalite variants look the same anyway! Damn Yanks.

Nothing. They just re-roled the wepons system on paper and said 'don't fire it on auto any more' Plus you don't get handed 12 mags any more.
Watch your langauge also please.

The FN MAG/L7A2 GPMG lacks a mounting point for a belt box like the PKM or Minimi.

You know what i wanna know? Why is the L86 such a crappy marksmen rifle? I mean the british rifleman is the same thing basically and it has more ammo and toys.

Because its supposed to be a SAW (but it was **** at that too) and the MOD don't want to look silly (espcially after they turned down the Minimi in the '80s for the L86 then bought the Minimi later, which did make them look rather silly) so they had to find a new use for all the L86s they paid those nice men in leather shorts at H&K to upgrade to A2 standard which didn't involve chopping them up into L22A2s.
So they looked at what the US were doing (because if the US do it, it must be the best thing in the world), and they happened to be putting DMRs into infantry squads (M14/SDM-R/SAM-R/etc). And they thought, hey, we could do that! So the L86A2 got branded as a DMR, a role it was never intended for.
So in PR you get a weapon which in performance terms is bascialy identical to the L85A2 (bit more accurate, but thats it really), but with less ammo, less frags, no spade, fewer smokes and no resupply bag. Oh, and in its current version, its ugly, too.

if there's going to one thing that cancels out all the crappy stuff the brits have atm (LSW, noisy-no port gun-but nicely modeled-weak armored-Warrior), it's going to be the Challenger 2!!
seriously, i can't wait to drive or gun that thing; maybe ill even enjoy repairing it!

To be honest, Bob, we can't make the L86LSW good at what it does in real life. From Duckhunt's account in Royal Marines training it's recoil while prone and supported is stunningly low (none at all really) and it was very accurate. Unfortunately, we can't define recoil per stance and.....well yeah.

Katarn How about reducing deviation per stance? In Bf2 when going prone it gives you the least amount of deviation on any weapon, SO what if you make the deviation higher then the l85a2 when standing and lower when proning? Would that work?

Firstly Bob Marley, i'd like to apologise for calling a Colt Commando (dunno what that is) an M4, but like i said i really am a n00b.
