To be fair...
"This is the actual radio conversation of a US naval ship with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October 1995. Radio conversation released by the chief of naval operations, 10-10-95.
CANADIANS: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision.
AMERICANS: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the north to avoid a collision.
CANADIANS: Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision.
AMERICANS: This is the captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.
CANADIANS: No, I say again, you divert YOUR course.
AMERICANS: This is the Aircraft Carrier US LINCOLN, the second largest ship in the United States Atlantic Fleet. We are accompanied with three Destroyers, three Cruisers and numerous support vessels. I DEMAND that you change your course 15 degrees north. I say again, that's one-five degrees north, or counter-measures will be undertaken to ensure the safety of this ship.
CANADIANS: This is a lighthouse. Your call."

well this is a noobish idea but what if you could put like a background mission along with PR set in vietnam or laos and cambodia and do an event that helped cause the war. i know this would take completely different weapons, vehicles and terrain for just 1 or 2 maps, and i know theres already eod. just trying to get some good debate and inspire good suggestions

You mean actually In the 60s and 70s? I suppose it could be done but really I think the modern combat setting would be better. That doesn't mean vietnam can't eventually be included. In my earlier post and in a post by Nikov we really tried to expand it in every way that we reasonably could.
I think Vietnam is a feasable way for the war to move in if it comes down to the good old communism vs democracy with the DPRK invading the ROK and Vietnam helping out China by holding Western citizens hostages to divert US attention before China makes a move on Taiwan or Russia.... Or both. Again the idea has been done... but to my knowledge only in a book, and it didn't include Korea or Vietnam.
If we get all these nations involved (and bring back imperialist Japan by way of coup (maybe not overly realistic) or they could also move away from the West through democracy... Anyway however they do it, they could go back into the South Pacific. Once that happens, Project Reality will have virtually every single terrain option available in the mod... I think the only other big mod that will do that will be FH, and that's a whole different era. PLUS it leaves so much room for the militaries of the so-far unrepresented nations that are home to people of the PR community.

It would also be a very good advertising point for the mod, imaginehow many different people each terrain would atract + reality nuts that would make for a gigantic community its already over 2.5 thousand people and counting!!

Russia controls the only over-land transportation route, the Trans-Siberian Railroad, that the United States and West could use to attack China over land and without the threat of China's extensive (if aged) submarine fleet.

The Su-37 is a good looking plane.
They do have a good amount of submarines but most of them are diesels? All it would take is a few patient nuke subs to wait for them to snorkel and those are most likely toast. PR could either eventually incorporate naval battles, explaining assaults from an ocean absent of Chinese ships or skip straight to the land battles with the explaination of 'After the destruction of Chinese naval forces at the hands of the US Navy, the USMC is clear to assault the beaches at (instert map).
The railroad point is a very good one though, that would make it very easy for Russia and the US to move troops and material where they are needed.
