Why is there such a big problem with being killed by claymores? You can still do pretty much te same thing with C4. Exept claymores only explode in one direction. They were truly great in 0.5 and really underused even when they werent in a limited kit.

C4 is getting a boost in .7, so we'll see where that goes.
If multiple entrances could be made to citadel and mine it would probably reduce the exploitability of claymores and C4 in those areas. I realize this gets rid of the whole chokepoint idea, but just a suggestion.
I would love to see claymores, but Waaah has a point about C4. the only thing is that with a claymore you can lie a few feet behind it and set it off, while with C4 you better have some serious distance.
For those who think classes should not be standardized for all maps, why? The way I see it most conventional armies deploy with a standard set of tools they use to accomplish their tasks. They have these tools with them regardless of their task, although they might sometimes switch out a piece of gear. But for the most part, we're talking about deploying nearly identical units the same way in many places. For unconventional forces I do agree that kit changes are in order, simply because of the inherent randomness of armament in different regions.

Make then tripwire-like based. They only have a tiny area of detection (like the size of a bullet)

Officers and spec ops should get hand-detonated Claymores.
The cause why Officers should get those claymores is that I am always officer, and that claymores are secksy.
Now I made my point.

What'd be sweet is a horizontal operable door found in OGT. You'd open it and be able to nade, etc. down it or grapple down. Be closable from the floor too.

It would be cool if the spec ops got remote detonated, other then that i see no reason to have claymores

Still no claymores in-game... 0.8?

It's a "drop and forget" weapon, which in my opinion has no place in PR due to issues of spamming it and the risk of lots and lots of teamkilling.
There's already a passive independent weapon, and it's called the mine.
Vehicles are few when compared to the ratio of armor/support vs infantry on the map, which is why mines are balanced.
Everyone running around with insta-kill claymores?
No thanks.

Have you played 0.5? Claymores were MANUALLY DETONATED, jut like C4. Wheres the problem in that...?

With previous versions of the claymore in PR, if you forgot about it, nothing much would happen. This was because it was remote detonated, not proximity/wire based.
EDIT: Beaten by <1 minute. ><
