These two pics didn't come out, so I'll re-post.
This is a shot of Cd standing next to the Blackwater bridge, looking down the MSR that ran through Fallujah towards the end of the assault.

Kicking back in the recliners with Cd, watching a lot of heavy fighting around the city.

Dragunovs are cheap, but they get the job done. I would prefer a Dragunov over a bolt-action rifle in heavy urban combat. We didn't fire that Dragunov though, couldn't tell if it was booby trapped or not.

July 03, Kuwait border awaiting transport into Iraq.
Sept 03, Basra Int. Airport. Some toys we took off some naughty Iraqis we found hanging around the perimiter fence.
This was, as far as I'm aware, the first full Territorial Army, Company strength deployment since Aden, as our Co said "A great honour for the TyneTees regiment" (now disbanded) July 03 - Jan 04. OpTelic II & III

Beginning part of the war you could get away with that, DON'T pick shit up today though for anyone heading over or thinking of. They know damn well our desire to be cool and get photo's holding enemy ****, so they booby trap high value items like SVD's/ak's/PKM's/RPG's etc. Make sure you take a goooood look before picking anything up and if your suspicious give EOD a call.

That would be the SR-25/Mk11/M110. Its not a clone of the M-16, its actually based on the AR-10, the gun which the M-16 was created from.
The bolt-action M40 sniper rifle currently in use is reportedly not ideally suited for the urban environment. According to the Army Times, "the 20-round magazine and higher rate of fire also helps make the Mk 11 a defensive weapon, eliminating the need for snipers to carry three weapons — the M40A3, an M16A4 rifle and M9 pistol — on their way to a hide, snipers say." An added advantage of the Mk 11, according to Army Times, "particularly in an urban fight where the enemy lurks among the population sharing the roads and alleys with Marines on patrol, is the rifle’s resemblance to a standard M16A4."
