and the squeaky voice is just too much to take seriously when your getting shot at hehe
I've had experience with guys that were 18-22 and were swearing all the time about how PR sucked because there were no transports :|

It depends on the person 100%. I don't care if you're 10, 50 or whatever age, if you dance in-game, you're awesome :D

im younger than 90% of the guys i squad lead/command... but yea , a high voice is just annoying, some guy made a VOIP squad as SL with a real high voice, after 2 mins they all left.

use a tissue in front of your mouth so it makes your voice older.

And than TK the older ones.

Yeah, I wondered for about a month about DesertFox. I figured a female would likely choose a name like that.

No joke.

Sorry DF.

It's more of a matter of how pre-pubescent their voice sounds. That may sound nieve and close minded but IMO I can't stand listening to some whiny voice order me around, it's really irritating. I don't mind young players being SLs but if their voice is really whiny/high pitched I'm leaving the squad.\

Also I think it's a given that the older players tend to know what they're doing more often and have better tactics.

Tbh, i think i sound about a year older than i am. And 80% of the time i get good "reviews of my squads.

No thanks, and dude it's not a big deal, so what if people can't stand taking orders from a kid, such is life.

Ah cmon guys we gotta cut them some slack at least they try. If you have a "squeek" leader give him a hand. The most experienced member should be walking him through and, if necessary, take a NCO role. Keep squad coordination and give suggestions to the "squeek" leader.

And dont judge a kids voice on how well he shoots. My nephew is 9 years old and can damn well shoot better than 80% of the people on here. 4 inch groupings at 100 yds no joke. I got a video somewhere ill post it.

typicaly: patience, experience and man-management.

things teenaged brains generally (and I say generally!) are not so good at.

Im sorry, but I really just can't stand.... well picture this scenario , kid with most high pitch voiced possible, he's in your squad, and you're all under fire. Now imagine that squeaky voice going "oh **** dude! dude! DUDE! they're shooting at us DUDE! shoot that f!cker DUDE! OMG! F!cking die!" :o

Manage squad -> rubber band constricting ballsack dude -> kick from squad -> nothing personal. :-D

That might sound mean to some people but I guess if you think that's mean you have a higher tolerance to ear damaging frequencies.

I've experienced that and it is quite irritating, it's good that I am able to tune things out but yes when you are getting shot at and some child is screaming OMGGGG THEY ARE SHOOTING AT US!! I'm like no shit. Youngins have too much energy and most of it gets spent screaming like a girl. haha

There are never bad squads, just bad squad leaders.. :P

90% of the time the reason is because a younger players actually isn't a good leader. Desertfox is probably the only good squadlead I've had that's young, most others seem to try to act like they know what they're doing and they don't and end up getting everyone killed. Just my opinion and experience of it though. I just think as a general fact older more mature players make better leaders.

I dont care about the age of the squad leader, I'm 16
But when I hear squeaky voice, it dosent make me confiedent
I just dont feel safe + it annoys me
BUT
I already sticked to a squeaky SL and, no matter what I think, HE was a pretty good one.

A sound synthesizer that is running in the background which makes the voice sounds an octave lower to replicate age. Now that would be the true geek method around the problem of a young squeaky voice. Now you just have to have the experience, skill and patience parts. :)

I believe it is possible to do that. I once had such an application installed, which was able to distort your voice, before "sending" it, so to say. Don't know if it's possible with BF2's voip, but should work with every app that uses mic-input, so worth a shot :p .

Can't recall the name... but I'm sure Google knows :) .
