Has anyone here used NVG's?
Here are two random photos of the same location from the net.
This is without NVG.
This is with NVG.
Bi Ming looks like the first to me, not the second. Now, I've never used NVG's, so are these photos lieing? Or is it just too freaking dark on Bi Ming? Of note, the second shot is using commerically available night vision equipment that a charter helicopter company in NZ uses to fly at night.

Have you hit the '7' key to activate the nightvision?

I've only played it once and it was awesome, but ever since then it crashes when I spawn.

I'm not quite that stupid
There is a dramatic difference between the NV I get in PR and that of vanilla. Which is why I don't like it, it's black without NVG on and it's black with a few hints of green with NVG on. Trees and bushes etc show up when close to my character, but anything further than like 5 meters just doesn't show up. Gun fire is suitable bright though.
But I can walk outside in the dark and not be blind, because of ambient light, PR seems to lack ambient lighting at night.

You'v probably got gamma turned down somewhere then, I can see things with nightvision on in bi ming much much further than the 5metres your claiming.

Night maps are neveretheless annoying, but if you get that "stalking" feeling, it's very addictive.
