Actually fatcat, its quite the opposite. v0.7 is retaining the largest amount of players of ANY version of Project Reality....
I check the stats every day to verify how things are going, and PR population is as healthy as ever (and way higher than all the other BF2 mods combined).
perhaps you had your filters set wrong? check the PR wiki for a picture with the proper settings

LOL, he is called fatcat! Hahaaaaaaa! And he is almost as pessimistic as me, but some how, just not...
In all seriousness however i have calculated, very precisely ofcourse, the death of PR to occur on February 9th 2009! But no point getting too despondent about the whole affair, better to just live it up while it still ROCKS!

as i can see:
Total Players/Max: 600 / 5,171 (11.60%)
which means that you had 5.171 players at the same time
it's 80 of 64/64 servers at the same time
please don't tell me that you never saw more than 10
Also agree with Sabre_tooth_tigger there were significant growt
when 0.7 released, however since then keep falling down.
So DEVs need to do something to attract players to stop falling.

Lol. Come on guys, this dude knows his PR history. He's been playing for 3 months FFS. I think we should probably just accept that he knows more than us on the subject.

I can find anywhere between 6 - 8 nearly full servers during primetime and even at 6am there are still 2 or 3 servers nearly full of people.
8 x 64 means 450+ players online every night.
I find the means in which you based your assumption that PR is dying is comical at best. Try playing during Primetime US hours and Primetime EU hours.

I have to disagree that the number of players is dying off. I have actually seen quite a few more players in the past few months. But unfortunately, I have decided not to play much anymore because of the quality of those players.
As a former soldier, my interest in military simulations has been on reality. I don't ever expect a computer game to fully recreate combat, but there have been a few games that have come close. So far, PR has been the closest thing to recreating a combat environment on a level that is entertaining to most players while not integrating the finer details that most people would consider boring. This is what drew me to this mod, and it's why I check the forums every day for updates and news even though I choose not to play.
The reason I have chosen not to play lately is because since I came back to the game after a break, I see more and more retards running around and doing their own thing. Even with all of the awesome new updates and game changes, I feel like I'm seeing more and more of the vBF2 idiots running around trying to play this mod. And I keep seeing those same gimps running around on various servers, no matter how much they complain. The lack of maturity and teamwork on most servers has therefore made me stop playing, because now more than ever this mod is starting to feel like vanilla again. Not because of the mod itself, but because of the people playing it. In my opinion, the dumbasses outweigh the professionals.
I don't think this problem has anything to do with the mod though or any of the updates. I think that it has simply gotten to the point that few people want to play vanilla, and many are being turned onto the mod scene. This being one of the highest rated mods, we will continue to see a flood of new players. Unfortunately, that means a lot more smacktards. Yes, some will leave once they learn the dynamics of the game don't work for their play styles. But we will still see a larger population of idiots just because they rather play something different than vanilla and they lack the funds to either buy a new game or new pc to run the new games.
In my opinion, PR is a great mod with a lot of potential. They have taken a so-so game and turned it into something much better than anything like it on the market. They have turned a jacked-up gimped game engine and done some amazing things with it that others thought impossible. And they have proven themselves to be capable of creating a mod that many soldiers and former soldiers feel at home with. There is little that can be done though with the mod to keep the maggots out, the best option is to keep increasing the number of good players. Those of us that like what the mod stands for have a better chance of playing a fun game if we are part of a group/clan, because this allows you to play with a group that is suited to your own play style.
Be patient, look for a group in your timezone to play with, and I think you'll find the game to be more enjoyable. In time the retards will fade away as they move on to COD4 and other games, leaving the dedicated PR players left in the field.

I completely agree with Ninja2dan.
I find it very hard to find a good game now, with everyone working together and fulfilling the mod to its full potential.

i dont think thats the problem !
there are lots of servers to play on ! and i mean lots for i go after 6 o'clock (US time) and i would find them actuely almost full from 9 o'clock to 7 in the morning , im sort of gaming and computer freak so sometimes i spend over 10 hours of playing PR :s:s !!
anyways dude try to keep refreshing ur server list ! sometimes after refreshing a couple of times new servers pop up
and one last thing I TOTALY AGREE WITH Ninja2dan !!!
and i posted a subject before about lack of seriousness in the game and the answer was join a clan or change squad ! the game needs more serious gamers !! i hope we can find more them pretty soon
maybe someone should make a clan which only add's ppl with high ranks and alot of gaming hours ! which by that this clan is made only for serious gamers and who are realy expreienced in the game !

PR is not dying at all, even with me coming on at non primetime times, I can find atleast 2-3 servers full, with 6-7 servers up and either half full or 1/4 full, I am sure PR will live on for many years to come and will only get bigger, and not vice versa.
P.s.: Good to be back at the PR Forums
