Ahmmmm, what would you expect him to do, in order to "back that up"? Are you suggesting that he submit a copy of his Military record? Yeah, sure that'll happen :) When hell freezes over!

You ever heard the phase, "I can tell ya, but then I'd have to kill ya"? Well it may be just a punch line in movies to some of you, but I can tell it's a very "REAL" statement. One that you really DON'T wanna see play out.

I can vouch for him, that's all the "backing up" I need.

Hell, half of TF21 is prior or active military. The dev's have a huge resource right on its door step in regards to feedback for kits/ tactics/ and real life information.

I'd rather use real human experience than model something from a website, but since I don't have the modding skills and play for free, this is as fas as I'll go.

All I know is that I'd take a DMR over a Sniper kit any day of the week simply because it allows engagement at long range with enough ammo to compensate for the assery that is the moving BF2 hitbox.

I've been able to rack up 30+ kills a game w/o a death multiple times with a DMR (m14 usually). Doing this with a sniper kit takes far longer and your ability to stop full squads is all but gone do to long reloads and the high probability of missing on moving targets.

I don't know what is needed to bring ballance to the sniper kits as a 1 shot chest kill is not accurate on soldiers wearing modern body armor. What I do know is that for the role of sniper in the game atm a DMR does a better job and is more versatile, you guys do the math.

lulz, when I go sniping it's more like a rabbit hunt, targets running and jumping all over the place, no way I can wait longer than 1 second before I take a shot, otherwise they'll be on the move again. :|

In that video that was posted i saw a kill ever 5 shots he made... and he didnt even wait the full 2 seconds befor ehe fired and SOMEHOW still got a kill, i wait athe full fuking 3 seconds and still miss it sometimes, and its not distance im not accounting for either, nor movement. Do you guys remember the game called Delta Force 2 and all teh delta force games afterward? If you have never played it, it was a first person shooter, that was very low graphics quality since it was way back then, but the sniper wargames were RIDICOLOUS. Players took a good 20 minutes at the beggining going all the way around the whole main area to get on to a good sniping spot picking off people at 1800meters, it was epic. But that game had a range on the scope automatically, just like the tank gunner sees on his hud. Directly above the range number was the numbers his scope was set to. So you would have to match up the scope range to the actual range sometimes adjusting a tad bit above or below for certain windage shots. In anycase, is there a way to do that? Like the way to adjust was when u were in scope, and u just use scroll mouse up or down to do it, it took a little bit to do, but it gave the full sniper experience (not to mention the ghille suit was so good u could have enemies walk right under u and nobody would spot u). Here is a little vid of somebody sniping
YouTube - Groovy Sniping
The green numbers is the range hes poiting at, the yellow is the one his scope is set to, although his shooting didnt require him to adjust his levels since he didnt go beyond 100 meters our drastic bullet drop would make our scope adjustments a smart idea. Is it possible, or just too much work?

Not only that but you've completely removed the snipers ability to track on a moving target which (believe it or not) we actually do in the world....
Yep, a sniper should not have to be a useless kit for the team. If done right a sniper should be overwatch on an attack and picking off the enemy in order to support their team. Right now it is only a target rifle and can't be used as effectively in a fight as it should. Unfortunately people have a tendancy to move around.

In an attack no one stays still long enough to be effective and so tracking a moving target is a must.

Is there a way to set the deviating in relation to movement? What I mean is if someone is jerking the rifle around they can't hit the broad side of a barn but if it is slow, small and fine adjustments such as tracking a far off target or adjusting aim from your first shot (while prone only) the deviation is still zero? Sure everyone says one shot one kill but for those really long shots where even the curvature of the earth is a factor it's the second or third shot that kills, in fact the current world record shot was the third shot that took Mr, Taliban down.

thats another solution by smokejumper, its been said before, but yeah, just bringing it up there. Its very true, nobody stays still and its darn near impossible to track a zigzagging target a mile and half away for 2-3 seconds to hold ur scope still before firing...??? i mean come on...!

He even said he is supporting his SQ, he's trying to us it as a team player which is exactly what I do when I use it. Right now it's really only useful to the whore in a corner type player.

Yeah, after making a dedicated sniper squad the past two nights, and not being able to hit **** well within the zero'd range, this kit is broke.

Back to using my good old M16, since I know I can hit point targets 500+ meters... Yay Rifle Expert... Too bad the game mechanics kill my r/l training... :(

At tracking? Yes it is broken, but if you sit still, as in, not moving your mouse for 2-3 seconds, you should be able to hit your target, though it does take more than 1 shot I've noticed.

Used this kit for the first time since .75, and i really had no trouble hitting targets. Had a brit crossing the street perpendicular to my position and downed him on the first try. Also supported/overwatched my squad leader's position from tard rushers and .50 cal gunners with ease.

I waited a good 3 seconds, was aimed directly center mass, clicked the button, and it still impacted several feet away from my intended target.

After reading the posts with people claiming to have gotten many kills, I'm starting to believe that the kit itslef hates me, and I should simply leave it to others. Which bums me out, 'cause I'm real good at sneaky-sneaky.

Just have a little practice on a local server. You can really see the difference between waiting and not waiting when engaging trees at about 300m. Just look for the "puff".
