Even though i like playing normal BF2, i also want to get away from it sometimes and play PR cos its more challenging in the way of aiming and accuracy and the amount of maps and vehicles it has!...so adding a similiar ranking system to Project Reality, would totally and utterly ruin PR as a mod!...keep PR as it is...but work on adding effects n extra stuff...but please by the love of god...donot add some kind of ranking system!...because it will ruin PR!!!!. don't you agree?.

removing k/d from ingame board, and in end of round/general stats, adding points for work that was valuable for the team. spotting, preventing enemy from getting close to your positions, supports like medic and ammosupply, transporting, assaulting objektives succesfully, then mixing up the enemys killed with that but not showing the number of enemys killed. and as someone said before giving the records to the winner team only.TheSkudDestroyer wrote:another poll?
Stats - any stats are DUMB. Scoreboards should only be displayed at the last minute of the round. That way nobody would care at all about KDR and just focus on playing their best and staying alive.
to the opinion telling us that stats in general make you forgetting anything bout the team but your K/D: removing the stats will not prevent anyone who prefers killing instead the team-objektive (and sometimes the K/D off the entire players is the teamobjektive, at least a part of it) from sitting far apart from any usefull location with a sniper.

Then I guess you could vote for "i never check any stats" as that would be the closest, but i agree the do need a "no" option.
As for stats the majority of you say people play for JPEG's, they dont always stats pad mainly for the picture, they do it for the unlocks.
Seeing as how unlocks in PR would make it terribly unbalanced, and statspadding servers along with statpadders would show up, I dont think it should be implemented. (of course they would be weeded out)
Why kinda squads do you want backing you up, ones that play for stats or ones that play for fun?

Only reason I cared about the stats in vanilla was so I could get the unlocks, since there aren't any in this game I am really not fussed at all.

We Don't want unlocks in PR. That's just silly. But I would love to see a unified stats system (Ranking) that showed KDR, Weapons used, time in jeeps/jets/helos and so on. Medals and ribbons, badges would be cool also. But it needs to come from the DEV team so that scoring is done the right way.

I really don't like statistics in multiplayer games, any. They are pushing players to some strange and sick behaviours.
Good example: What is better:
- good accuracy in percents
or
- lowering your accuracy, but helpful for your SMs, support fire, preventing the enemy from moving and fireing back?
Player should act instinctively and do not think about scores and statistics.

Seriously don't bring ranks like in bf2. It will make people look for ways to exploit the ranking system, by stat padding or anyway they might find.Blakeman wrote:Personally I play PR to get away from the stat braggers and such.

PR is not about stat padding at all, if it was it would be BF2 with new kit ?
This is one of the reasons PR works, as people play, for the game, and not for a "score" , or medal.
All I can say here is - if you like your medals, ribbons and scores ......... then VBF2 is for you.
And no doubt this is what you will end up with, for being killed by some bunny hopping TKing 10 year old ...lol

Re: Player stats - PR rankings
I would like to know how to get into the ABR ranking system.
While our clan all of whom are older guys and gals are more into the team work, we do like the fact that each individual can be recognized for their efforts.
We run one ranked BF2 server, one ranked SF server, one NAW server that is ranked through MasterX's game stats ranking and now the PR server, which was ranked through Masterx's, however, Masterx has had to redline us as he claims the python files through PR are causing his ranking server some problems
Enough of that, PR is by far the most professionally done mod I have ever seen. It has breathed new life into the game, and frankly makes up for the poor design of BF2 out of the box.
I'm sold on the mod, and so is 90% of our clan, we love it, and we appreciate what the developers of PR have done, but, we wold really like some sort of a ranking system, I thought ABR died a few yeas back, and am surprised to find discussion about it.
Would anyone be willing to point me in the right direction?

Re: Player stats - PR rankings
I would like to see unified ranking system but players should gain higher ranks only for teamwork. Also it should show only ranks and nothing else (maybe just hours played as SM and TL) so there shouldn't be any stats padding.
I think that ranking system like that would be really helpful to keep balance between teams on public servers. Although I don't know if it is possible to customize BF2 stats like that.

where's the "burn in hell" option. stats are good in vb2 but in my opinion has no place in PR.
