I still say that the best way to implement door guns on transport variants in PR is to have a single mounted gun on one side of the bird, squad-locked to the same squad as the pilot... Allows a full squad of six to be transported.

Now thats a good idea.

considering you can hear a huey from across the map, i really doubt that will ever be a serious concern. besides, riflemen and SAWs on the sides already fire outta the huey regularly so simply packing a bigger punch really wont do much harm.
leave the tactical stealth insertions to the littlebirds

tbh, i would just have the transport version as it is, then have m240/m249 mounts along with rocket pods on the gunship version, mybe carry 2/3 guys in it aswell

Please Jaymz, no DAS mounts on the Huey! It's so lovely to be able to fly a round as a transport pilot and not have some berk on a door gun firing off at whatever random stuff they see.
rofl always will

So I was thinking that the base for this can be the rocket huey. Like in the pics I posted, most of the Hueys have rocket pods and MGs, mainly the 7 round rocket pods and M2s on either side. Putting the 19 round pods would make it too overpowered IMO.
So basically all that needs to be done:
*Doors slid back
*Mounts modeled
*2 more seats added, or the co-pilot moved to the back as a gunner and another gunner's seat added
Since the hydra huey already cannot transport more than one Marine, I think that should be retained in the gunship. This will avoid the issue of not being able to transport a whole squad, and besides, it's a gunship, not a transport helo. That is why you have the transport hueys.
Another thing is that this also puts an emphasis on teamwork. Say you have the gunship huey, and two trans. hueys. If the hueys had to land in a hot LZ, the gunship huey would have to cover them, thus making people work together, instead of hogging assets for themselves.
One last thing- It would be nice to have the gunner seats limited to pilot kits, so that the gunners can't abuse the gunship as a mini-transport. And if they do chose to leave, well I don't think the enemy will be intimidated by a red smoke nade and a combat dressing.

As of now there are no such heli class present in PR except maybe the rocket huey, so if ure sugessting this then we need every heli converted to a Gunship Heli ---> exapmle : We need a Mi-8/17 with rocket pods, blackhawk with rockets pods....
I kinda think now this post is unesesary (my post xD) because there is a gunship huey, the one with rocket pods xD kinda i think

problem is that most times they are transport vehicles...
you are given 8 spots
2 spots for A) Pilot B) Copilot C) 6 squad members or a combination of random people
So making that happen wouldn't.. really make sense...

So... we need a mount modeled? That's it?

Pretty much, because you just have to add in the seats, slide the doors back, and attach the current M2 model to the mount. Then viola, a huey gunship.
Since this is already getting close to an armor killer, I think it would be best to keep it strictly a shooting chopper. Being able to transport would defeat the purpose of using the gunship to cover transport hueys (and use teamwork).
