Or are the Mavericks the same color as the fuselage and I can't see them?

He means the F-18 hidden in the files, its armed wit 2 Mavericks, 4 AMRAAMs, and 2 Sidewinders.McLuv wrote:You mean the F-16? Currently the Pr F-18 is non-existant, unless you are talking about CA's F-18. If it were equipped like that it would be kick @$$![]()
.courtesy of defence alert news serviceThe Australian government has approved $3.2 billion for the purchase of 14 F-35 Joint Strike Fighters ( JSF ). Included in this is a test aircraft that will be delivered in the U.S. in 2014 to take part in test and training activities.

Appearently the RAAF is to adopt 24 F/A-18F 2 Seat Super Hornets. Seems like a wonderful ground attack aircraft for the Aussies. That of which is to replace the F-111's which served the RAAF in the Recon and bomber role. Hopefully we'll see some Super Hornets in PR.

Thats what i understand to be the commonwealth insignia. Then again thats second hand knowledge from when i was modding for YSFlight. However i do know that its not on every aircraft, some have a low vis out Aussie flag, some nothing at all besides their aircraft number.mikethebear wrote:just wondering, what are those colours on the tail? looks like a mini french flag
not likely mate, you gave good accurate information that adds to the knowledge base of the comfac, that kind of information and any more like it is always appreciated, thank you.If i have necessarily dragged up this thread for nothing, i apologise in advance, and if this has already been brought up, again i'm sorry, i couldn't see any evidence in the thread, so i decided to help you out a bit.

In answer to your question, and this point in time the F/A-18 is the only fighter in our inventory, we did operate the F-111C and G as our main bomber until sometime last year when it was retired, which coincided with the acquisition of 24 F/A-18F Super Hornets. All this is in preparation for the acquisition of 120+ F-35A Lightning II fighters.'[uBp wrote:Irish;666297']does the ADF us any other time of aircraft? or are they like the canadians that use the F-18 as Air Superiority/CAS?
Win indeed......a pity we will be only getitng 24. We should replace our entire AF/A-18A outfit with supers, and forget about the F-35's altogether.......or think of Typhoons.....Truism wrote:On a side note, our first Super Hornet was delivered to Amberly a few days ago.
This is win? Y/N?
