Re: What do people want in maps apart from fricking lazors
One map I liked based on layout was Hills of Hamgyong but not enough room for US side,The bunkers, tunnels, trenches etc are awesome. Now take a Bi Ming style map and include bunkers, tunnels, trenches, and have the flags(bunker complexes)to be able to be attacked and defended from all sides. You have 2 mains and then 4 flags(CP). Would have a Vietnam feel to it.
A full size city envoriment that covers every corner of the map, include tranport helos, jeeps, street fighting at its best. No open spaces like Sunset City or Ejod Desert 6. No armor, Infantry skills at its best.
A island hopping map using tranport helo's only, have 8 islands, 2 main bases, 6 flags(CP), supply trunk avaiable when team captures Flag (CP), the only way to get to islands is by helo insertion or you would have to swim for like over 5 minutes.

Jungles and Night maps
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Just make sure maps make sense. Ask questions: Why is this village here? What would these people do? And by the time you know it, you will be adding a lot more things to your maps without really wondering "What makes this map cool" It just comes naturally.
I'm currently working on a map, where I keep asking my self that question. and I must say, I really like the way the map is coming along for the first time. (well, this is only like my 3rd map

Those are the most natural maps. Dont go: cool! Ill make a village here with a missile sillo in it! But wonder why its there, how big it would be. And why is it so big? Is there a taliban ammo factory nearby or is it just a normal community.

And some fricken lazors please!

I would want big complexes with intense CQB .
People don't realize that autism doesn't mean they're "stupid". Just socially inept. Like rhino... > > or in a worst case scenario... Wicca. =)- Lithium fox

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.
"Going to war without France is like going deer hunting without an accordion. All you do is leave behind a lot of noisy baggage."

Re: What do people want in maps apart from fricking lazors
I'd like to see a city/town that is on huge steep hills, sort of built on the side of a mountain, but with lots of dips to hide behind and just stick your head up over crest to take a quick peek at what lies just over it.
Obviously it can't be so steep that it cannot be climed, but something right on the limit would be great.
I seem to remember a map in a desert (.6 I believe) that had the yanks fighting the insurgents. The last place for the yanks to take was a city. The start of it was pretty steep. If only the rest of the city was like that entrance that would be pretty cool.
Or something like sunset city, but move the city over to the hills to the side, then have a big forest in the valley, where the city was, and some mountains over the other side of the valley for snipers to lie up, etc etc etc.

Re: What do people want in maps apart from fricking lazors
WAIT WHAT!?!? will this say evryone can use a kind of Bf2/PR map editor?
Back on topic: it would be cool with a jungle map, and i mean a real jungle like with almost only trees on the battlefields like tiny roads between the trees so there could be more ambushes. seriosly i mean like i see way to little action in this PR, i barely see any enemys at all, im like walking around with my squad the whole map not even seeing a single firefight. (Maybe i just choose wrong squads)
Ok but then it would be cool like with waterfalls and small old tree bridges over rivers. wouldnt it be cool to have almost only a big jungle around and with out you know you are getting ambushed and get in a exiting fire. (When i get in a firefight there isnt enough exitment, maybe the "theme" of the map can have somthing to do with that?)
