Don't give me that twaddle, you can buy a graphics card that'll run BF2 on medium settings quite handily for under £50.
As for "rich people", I'm so far the only guy in the "Break the FPS record" thread to post a FPS of above 600. In my full time job as a student nurse, I barely make minimum wage. From £760 a month, 300 goes into rent, 140 into the car I
need for work, another 120 on insurance of one kind of another, and another 150-odd on bills.
My PC is a E6750 with 4Gb of RAM and a GF9800GTX... how can I afford that? Quite simply, I bloody well took a second job to make sure that I could afford to treat myself during my training, and saved up. A bit of credit helped, as did a small tax break recently, but mostly due to working sodding hard to make sure that my rig is good enough to play decently on.
In short, don't moan that "rich people" have an unfair advantage when the same advantage is open to some extent to anyone capable of taking on a paper round while they're at school, doing a bit of extra work for cash or simply doing some overtime at work
Finally, there is
only a small advantage to having a high FPS in the way that many low-FPS players claim. Quite simply, even with my FPS at almost 700, a constant stream of rounds landing near my feet caused my screen to remain blacked out.
If you want to keep somebody supressed, keep shooting at them... that's what supressive fire *is*.
-------------------
On the supression issue itself:
Yes, the visual effect is unrealistic... but until players start acting like their virtual lives are worth a damn, I'm quite happy to see the game at least make players
act like they're properly supressed. If a guy in reality can't stick his head from behind cover to return fire, why should you be able to return fire accurately just because you're willing to take that risk? Suck it up, adopt and improve.

Finally - OP: You ran down an alley to a doorway that you then blew and entered a building that was known to contain hostiles... and you didn't touch a single grenade? Hmmm.
