Of course you realise we're going to need a sea king and a naval version of the merlin to go with this....

Well, i know you're reference picture show you a CIWS, but, British navy now use the Goalkeeper on all Invicible Carrier Class.
As you can see on the left of the sky jump, there is the GoalKeeper

Hmmm, quoting wikipedia again...
From the link you just provided: "Illustrious and Invincible were previously equipped with Phalanx. They were replaced with three Goalkeepers (per ship). The other ship of the same class, HMS Ark Royal, retained the Phalanx."
Is this def' realiable, I trust the knowledge of people on here more that wikipedia.
It'll be sweet to put the model Glimmerman saved to good use.
@Hotrod, what's that nice pice of tech' behind it with the big honking red buggers?
It should be possible to build other ships out of the parts I'm making for this one...

Doesn't matter if Invicible and Illustrious have it, Ocean is an Assault ship not an Aircraft carrier. You'll have to keep searching for the answers.
Also who ever suggested the Naval Merlin, the Navy uses the Merlin in a radar support role, not a troop transport like the army. They use the Sea King to transport so yeah we would need one of them.

That looks sweet - nice one smeg - it doesnt need too much more detail - just some hand rails and the weapon systems.

Why would a VTOL aircraft need a ramp?

its real name is the "ski jump", but HMS Ocean is a assault ship, not a aircraft carrier, there is a very large difference...
The ski jump is for STOVL which the harrier is really since it can not VT with a full pay load, and also the F-35b is also a STOVL. STOVL = Short Take Off and Vertical Landing if you dont know.
Note even the new carriers being build for the Royal Navy at the mo have the ski jump concept even thou its the new F-35b going to be used on them since it proved so effective with the harrier.

LoL your like a poster boy for the new British carrier.
OT:
But this ship can launch Harriers cant it? Maybe not fully loaded harriers if your statement is true but none the less. I ask because the US Marine equivalent can and does launch harriers without the ski jump. So do the Marines launch without having the harrier fully loaded?
