This is getting out of the hand. there is not going to be an air only map with 10x jets on.

FireStrike wrote:well in that case then the map can have a bit more concentration on ground forces so when they run out of air units they can at leest try and head for the island (that what the forces with the carier would do). And the forceson the island can fight of the enemy air units till they get their plains.
Is it really realistic in an air supremacy map for ground forces to be able to walk into the opponent's airbase and steal their planes?

I would prefer a hard-loss when the planes were destroyed, but I'm suggesting at the very least, effective loss. Because lets face it, if you lose all your planes you've failed to establish air supremacy.

Don't see why not, the idea of a large scale air map seems to appeal to almost everyone, no reason it shouldn't be done. Give the fly-boys some fun, after all.

Go buy a flight sim then.

Aside from the fact that I don't know of any flight sims with many, many people playing online, and that supports good fighter combat. I don't want, nor can afford to buy a game. Nor could I play it anyways (Busted cd drive). The PR devs are ALLREADY working on improving the flight mechanics of the fighters, why bother if at most, a map will only have 2 planes per side?

Make a dedicated air map, show off the work you've put into the jets, and allow what seems to be a very large portion of the community enjoy epic dogfights inbetween their ground engagements. I wouldn't imagine making an air map would be too difficult either, make it big, open, and all water, and toss in a carrier or two per side. This should be done :/

Then get to it. Tutorials are in the community mods section, I look forward to hearing from you. :-)

Pfft, even if I could map I'd never do it. It'd never get added to the main release, and so almost noone would have it and it'd be pointless. From what I've seen if a map isn't in the main release, odds are it'll never be played, and if it is, it wont be played much.

Mind explaining how what two differant people say causes a person to contradict themselves?

Get FSX alot of people have it.

People do simulated dogfighting..

Or get Il-2 it has multiplayer..

Lock On is good too it doesnt have multiplayer but you dont really need multiplayer.

I do need multiplayer, that's the whole point. Also, what's Il2? And all those are probably really good suggestions, but it still requires me getting a new game. Which is just stupid when I allready have one that just needs a single map added to satisfy my craving. Not everyone is made of money, y'know :/

He said that those maps wouldnt make it in to PR. You disagreed then said that making a map like that wouldnt get into PR because it will never be played.

Anyways, wait for v.8, you'll be happy. :)

whats with a test. set up a server with kashan (so we have no need fo a new map) reduce the spawntimes of the air assets to 10 min, give 2 0r 3 jets and bombers per side, 2 attack choppers and a transport shopper.

Then get the server full and test how it runs.

or clan hasnt the server files yet to set up our own pr server. if we have we would set it up for a test.

So we have a nice map with good ground battles. And much more in the air to. And we have the need for the bombers to get a fighter jet wingman for support.

only my 2 cents

Yeah, those didn't contradict each other, you should've explained it initially.

Regardless his issue was that nobody would play it IF it was a community mod as opposed to the official release.

He said the map will never make it in, I said PLAYER-MADE maps never make it in. That's not a contradiction, I still think it could get in, but only if a Dev makes it. Pay attention before trying to discredit people.

NOT True. Anyways, the DEVs have plenty of other things to worry about. In the mean time, go play a flight sim. You'll get everything you want, plus real flight physics. Or better yet, just wait for v.8, and keep an eye on the Dev Journal.

I still think it could get in, but only if a Dev makes it.
And yet wake island still isn't in...

You do realise that community made maps might be added into PR if the quality is good enough?

Coderfox wasn't a DEV when he first started making Korengal Valley, he was made into a DEV cos the map pwns.

more because his map looks very promising, he took feedback well, works hard and shows lots of proportional. As well as his background of what he dose for a living, cant remember excatly now but involves a lot of 3ds max work etc, helped me out with a 3dmax prob i had a few months ago in fact once he became a dev :)
