The commander should have an idea about the number of tickets because forces do keep a tally of enemy killed, which would get relayed back to the commander to give him a better picture of the battlefield. Rather than force the commander to write it down on a piece of paper just give him the counter.

well then let's remove ALL the ticket counters, friendly and enemy, and give the commander the ticket counters. (the one conman suggested for both the enemy and friendlies) Because, in large scale conflicts, i don't think a commander or anyone for that matter knows how many of their own troops have died.(until after the battle)

So basically what I'm saying is, remove the ticket counters for both sides, and make them (the colors resembling the approximate amount of soldiers left on both sides) only visible to the commander.

Good idea Conman. I wouldnt put in ANY indication of tickets at all. people should focus on fighting and not flicking to their map screen every 10 seconds.

I like this idea. I think it would improve hugely, getting everyone to do his best to kill out of a covered position. No more rush and kill because the team has a 50 ticket lead. I think it would definately improve realism by making the team be more carefull at all times. I would even go with less notification than a color bar for each 100 tickets or so, I would only notify if the team is down 3/4 of the starting tickets or so representing a commander that is getting aware how thinned out the enemy lines are and how no reinforcments are replacing them.

This is a brilliant idea, really hope it works out. I can really see this changing things up in Insurgency and adding another dimension to the commander position that could be quite interesting.
