Can the chinook of CH64 or w/e

be made to drop a vehicle out the back? like vBF2 supply crates have been made so they spawn out the back of choppers you could have one "rechargeable" vehicle to drop from the chinook
Would be brilliant to have vehicle drops braught back, though I'm smelling a lot of Deja vous in what I'm saying

I'm not sure I'm understanding what Rhino means by it won't fit, I'm looking at the stats right now and it's smaller than the Black Hawk. The Marines could use another helicopter to support the Huey, give it an FAV to drop or more supply crates, I think it's a great idea to add.

looking at the size of Muttrah V2 in the screens the CH46 could be usefull in that map

ye....
possible landing zones:
- in some areas of the docks, ontop of container piles and in wide roads
- on top of the multi story car park in city
- on some of the very wide roads, trying to doge the lamp posts
- in some of the car parks
- on some of the apartment building roofs
Where a littlebird or a huey could land in 20x more places and ye, generally more effective. The map is only 2km^2, which is yes very big for a city map, but this kind of chopper needs a 4km^2 map.

CH-46 Sea Knight
Crew: 4: 2 pilots, 1 crew chief, 1 aerial gunner/observer

Length: 57 ft 1 in with rotors (17.4 m)
Fuselage width: 8 ft 7 in (2.6 m))
Rotor diameter: 48 ft 0 in (14.6 m)
Height: 14 ft 5 in (4.4 m)

Max takeoff weight: 9,500 lb (4,310 kg))
Powerplant: 1× Lycoming T53-L-11 turboshaft, 1,100 shp (820 kW)
Rhino, are you sure you're thinking of the Sea Knight and not the Chinook, because according to the stats I'm looking at, the only external dimensions that the Sea Knight is larger than the Huey is that it's rotars are three feet longer and it's two feet taller, how is it more restricted than a Huey in size?

Came across v-22 specs also, another dual rotor so posting it for comparison also

*Yes i see your point rhino I have an idea though. Hold a map creating contest that would be fit for the Ch46 and a seperate map that would fit the Ch47 Chinook. Its all I can think of because I know that the V22 is just to big for any map in PR considering it is a VTOL and can change from vertical flight to rotary,
Or you could hold a vote to use the CH46 or not to?

The fact still remains that this chopper is going out of service very soon, to be replaced with the v22. We already have a v22 ingame, although low quility it would just require tweaking. Making a map for something that is not going to be around in a few years time, when PR is based and making the model from scratch is really not in PR's best intrastate...

The ch46 takes an extra 8m in length over the huey if the two rotors are included it looks like.
The chinook working length is 171% of the huey, the ch-46 144%. Littlebird 56%
They probably occupy a similar space when stowed
OH-6A Cayuse / AH-6J Little Bird - Military Aircraft
Rotors of a Chinook up close -
YouTube - Chinook cutting the grass
Fuselage length only, they are all similar probably because only the Huey needs a separate tail rotor:
Code: Select all
UH-1 12.98 meters
ch-46 13.92 m
ch 47 15.6m

Nope, it looks like the Sea Knight is sort of like a mini chinook, smaller than a lot of people belive, and the Sea Knight fleet won't be retired until 2014.

In the figures you gave you mixed comparisons. You compared the length of the ch46 fuselage to the rotor sweep of the huey.
