Did you just call AK47 a carbine??

@WAh: Ak has a very small barrel and a shoots a small round with barely enough powder behind it.

Err.. But it can still penetrate a brick or a thick log with no problem? Sure, 7.62 is small, when compared to APC rounds...

3 sources I have read say design work started in 1944, when the first protosype was produced. (Bolotin, D.N, "Soviet Small-Arms and Ammunition", pp 68.)

I think you've typed in 74, not 47, as he said:

Cartridge 5.45x39mm
Action Gas-operated, rotating bolt
Rate of fire 650 rounds/min (AK-74, AKS-74, AK-74M)
650-735 rounds/min (AKS-74U)

Effective range 100 to 1,000 m sight adjustments
350 to 500 m sight adjustments (AKS-74U)

Thats what i get in that box for ak 47.

----------Not pointed towards anyone inparticular-------------

Don't post if you don't know much about guns, don't just type what you think, a lot of us here actually know a lot about these firearms and all the small details.

Anyway, as for the AK, you need to use it carefully, only full auto at point blank, let the sights settle at range and use semi. I'm not to shabby with it myself, since I play to it's strenghts instead of trying to use it like a 5.56mm rifle.

Now we are curb-stomping a dead horse, give it the axe.

Seriously, im on the verge of calling the RSPCA, this horse has been beaten so bad.
As we can see, it is slowly but surely becoming a thread headed for none other than personal attacks and an E-penis contest over who has the greatest knowledge of weapons (Gee, arn't you cool).

Thread locked for unfruitful topic and a pre-empt on crude behaviour.
