just realized I had missed a bunch of posts in here....

They can test them out and then the only thing you would need to do is giving it a thumbs up or thumbs down. minimal work for you, maximum plesure for us.
You don't think we try? I myself use to be part of this community as just a fellow player, but I decided to put my free time into making a map for this mod, now I'm a very high up dev...
This is not like CS where its pretty easy for some one to jump on the mapping band wagon and get a map done in 2 months or so. Making a map for BF2/PR takes a hell of a load of hard work and dedication from some one who is very skilled and has a very good understanding of how BF2 works. I have published many tuts and info all over the BF2 community to help out new mappers trying to get onto the feet and it has paied off with quite a few, with the most recent being coderedfox who has been doing really well. I remember him saying to me ages ago "without your tuts I would have gotten no where". Just look here for them if you can't find them:

and if you want to start mapping, check this one:

Try making a map yourself, just see how hard it really is, and I'm not talking a small 256x2 map.

Aprove, it joins the next mapack
Disaprove, Tell me whats wrong etc.
we dont have a "approval" or "disapproval" stamps we shove on community maps, I basically give feedback to any mapper I feel will benefit from it, some times it can take me upto something like 5hrs to wright up a detailed feedback post, check this one out for example of my feedback I gave to fox before he was a dev:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f66-co ... post653831
As he took the feedback well, showed a hell of a load of proportional etc he was soon made a DEV for his hard work and his map is now going to feature into v0.8
Spec_Operator wrote:If your map is really good enough for PR, i think the dev's will take a minute and listen to you. Its not like you do a map in a week or so. That takes so much time that something like a quick-add doesnt make sense.
correct, if we feel the map is good enough and adds something to PR we will most likly include it into the mod.

ehhh no, Al Basrah dose not work perfectly at the mo it dose crash alot of servers which we have improved for the next version, we hope.
Defiyur wrote:I understand that the devs have a particular vision of what they want but in the end what matters most is what the players want not the makers. I'm not saying you have to do whatever crappy suggestion is made but be open to GOOD suggestions that might improve the game and popularity at the expense of some personal control. I don't want to be playing Kashan & Al Basrah in an infinite circle.
ehhh no this is you see where your wrong. If we did what the players wanted we would take the whole BF2 community, sum up what they want (a arcade game) and make a clone of vBF2 with new weapons and maps. We are also not paid to make this so if we where making something we did not want to make we would not have a dev team as no one wants to spend feck knows how many man hrs on something they dont want to play and not getting paid for it.
No you see the reason why PR is here is cos we have made PR for what we want and not for the masses. We do look at the suggestions forums alot, why do you think we have one? if there is something 100% orignal and a good suggestion up there we do include them if we can. Thou the fact is 99.5% of suggestions are either re-suggestions, not possible or both because the people making the suggestions do not have any/much inside knowledge of how the engine works or do not browse the forums every day for 3 or so years checking on the suggestions.
So yes I think we may know what we are doing since we are the most popular mod for BF2 on this really "mod unfriendly" engine?
