Basically it's a hand grenade with a shaped charge. When you throw it, a parachute deploys stabilizing it so that it strikes on the warhead. They are being used more and more and there is not real way to defend against them. There are some videos of them being used on youtube and what not but I can't watch that insurgent propaganda ****.

Anywho, just a thought. Very effective and very deadly.
Good idea.

I like the Shotgun thing, but the FLASH? These guys are insurgents, not arms dealers.

The gammon sounds incredibly simple and effective, armed in flight and detonates instantly when it hits something

some suggestions to replace the molotov

1) stickie bombs (COOL)
Use of 'Sticky IEDs' Rising in Iraq - washingtonpost.com

2) give insurgent granades a fire option to use them as the trip flare, but instead of making smoke as the trip flare... boom!

3) (strange?¿)
Insurgents Using New Homemade Rocket Weapon in Iraq

4) add 120mm mortar pickup's kits
DefenseLink News Article: Iraqi, U.S. Forces Kill Three al-Qaida Terrorists

5) homemade stickie bombs
socks covered with a sticky substanse wich have inside a tnt or explosive component. these have a timer, the bomb is activated, thrown on a veicules rear where it sticks and blow up, leaving the veacle very damaged.

6) give them claymores?

How can some guy with some gasoline and a beer bottle kill the ENTIRE crew of a six million dollar tank? The answer: HE CAN'T. Yet, in PR, he can. This is without a doubt the most infuriating aspect of PR to me. The deviation, I don't like it, but I can understand it. The draw times, I can understand, I even like them. But I HATE the Molotov. I don't see how the Molotov of doom is even in a reality mod. I figured if you couldn't get it to work properly, you wouldn't put it in at all. I guess I was wrong.
The fact it is able to to kill crewmen in vehicles is currently a bug being fixed, but the molotov is the perfect cheap anti infantry weapon for the insurgency.

And the Chinese AAV sucks compared to all the others, still, it's in the game. The bug is hardly game breaking, drive forward. Yes it's a problem, yes it's being fixed, just be patient.

Seems that PR has develop so far that ppl start bitching about things that work in ingame just fine. How can you say things based on one video? These molotovs can be in different size of bottles, they may contain different exploding materials, they might be thrown with different
speed. Plz do some homework before suggesting things like this? I Agree it shouldnt kill the crew inside the tank instantly, but as I remember it was a bug and not made for reason.

Bringing this thread back after 3 months of downtime, in relative size to the actual bottle in game the splash should be decreased dramatically, personally i don't even like the molotov's that's why i had a much simpler idea which is pretty much the same thing:

Replace this with a nail/shrapnel pipe grenade, its already coded....just use the same code as the normal grenade maybe tweak a few things and its very realistic (since alot of the Taliban or Iraqi's arent very rich and probably dont have a huge supply of hand grenades) they make makeshift grenades/bombs, the model would be a jar filled with nails and other assortments of shrapnel and with a small explosive charge thats taped on the outside of the jar.

Here is an example:

i drew it in paint haha **** quality use ur imagination

Also for those of you who are going to say what says the jar doesnt break when its thrown because its glass....make the model have tape all around it or somthing along those lines

Keep the molotov...it's the classic poormans weapon. I just think the radius needs to be reduced a wee bit.

only problem with it, at least i was reading and cannot confirm this, when you die by a molotov cocktail you are punished for suicide and that shouldnt happen at all, and second the fire can go through walls and kill you when your hiding on the other side, these two problems would be completely gone if the nail/shrapnel grenade was put in
