Yay its finally here! But it sucks that its my final 5 days of my holiday. Plus now i'm going to be wishing away the thursday and if 0.7's release time is anything to go by then i'll be wishing away most of friday aswell. But its all good since i get to play 0.8.

Fellow ignorant Nettie here. Here's what I can skim from a site I frequent:

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. IRC consists of networks (ex: irc.gamesurge.net) and channels on those networks (ex: #bf2s on irc.gamesurge.net). Channels are ‘chat rooms’ inside the network.

To connect to IRC you generally need to download and install a client.

*Xchat (*nix/Windows)
*silverex (Windows)
*mIRC (Windows, $20 registration)
*Trillian (Windows)
*Chatzilla (Firefox extension)
*Opera (Internet browser with IRC support)

Ah yea I remember the good old days on the bf2s irc channel mate. I can recommend using Opera (people always laugh at me, but seriously much better than firefox and has all sorts of stuff build in - and regular updates, never had a virus since using opera either..)

Also, wtf, one of the smileys I made for bf2s appeared in this thread, the "awsm" one.. bf2s invasion here?!

It was inevitable. We've got csmag, DavidP, GR34, Tehremos, k30dexdle (sp?) and myself positioned already for something . . . something huge. I've slipped the awsm smiley into a few posts already in the past here.

Ryan pretty much started to model when I posted some of my models along with my 2nd tutorial "modeling the AK5" over there. I've been with him along the sideline on his SCAR, he did a really good job, but I didnt manage to get him to optimize it for games nor learn how to UV map and texture it.

Yeah, I think Nickbond and his brother cooked up that Hello Kitty xfire thing. Surgeons (The Sheriff now) posted up a guide at bf2s on how to do it. I'd do it, but can't be bothered.

missed this thread, yeah i used to frequent Bf2s but oli (sruge/seffa/surgeons) is the main spammer in that community from my household
