Your point? I don't see why people go into threads on a help/support section and say "I don't have this problem". It's like going into a hospital and saying "I'm not hurt or in any kind of trouble", it's irrelevant and doesn't help those of us that ARE having this problem.

I get this problem too. Only thing that works for me is letting another server load partially, then leaving and joining the one I want. I have tried everything posted on this forum and it is something to do with PR because I have tested it on BF2 and other mods over and over. I have never gotten the message anywhere else and I get it with nearly every server I join in PR.

Yes for me I struggled with PB for a month. The best cure seemed to be the easiest. Load an empty server to 14%, press ESC to unload resources then connect to your desired server.
This has worked 100% of the time for me.

This has been happening on 3/4ths of the servers I play in. Every single crackpot theory for 'fixing' it doesn't work. This is ridiculous. I haven't even played PR for the past 3 weeks because I've given up on being able to play it until the Dev's actually formulate a patch.
This IS a problem with PR, and PR alone. Vanilla and any other assorted mods DO NOT have this problem. No other game I've ever played has had this problem.
What is going on? Something needs to get done, I'm tired of logging onto the news section every day and not seeing a single attempt at fixing this issue that (from what I've seen) is affecting a ton of PR players. Sure, the crackpot theories fix it for some. Not me. Not a couple people I know. Not a good deal of us.
Fix this game.
Seriosuly mate it isnt something the Devs can deal with. There isnt a Golden Bullet that will fix PB. But belive me when I say this the method I uss and posted above does fix it. It has for me and many other members of the PR Tournament.
The simple fact is that PB 'b' does not activate on occasion and to make sure it does joining an empty server avoids it having to contend with everything else that is going on.

I´ve turned down my graphical settings like no anti aliasing, no dynamic shadows etc..
There seems no causal relationship between graphic options an punkbusterB-handshake-failure, but since I´ve changed my setting, I had no longer a problem with it !

I am having the problem in some occasions also. In case some people don't know a temporary solution, here is what works for me.
Before starting PR, go to windows services and stop PunkbusterA named service OR go to task manager and kill PunbusterA process.

i can confirm that. worked fine for a friend. what did the trick in my case was ->Start->programms->...uninstall BF2->(wizzard)"change!"-> reinstall PB. REALLY did the trick for me. i used to upadte PB at least 2 times a day because of handshaking - since i did it i never had to do any update again ! ! !

doing it manually has worked perefect for me all you need to do is goto the PB website, find BF2 click on the HTML Link, and Copy & Paste that into your PB folder. Its not exact instructions but it worked perfectly

I get this B handshake failure too.
The hoops and hurdles I now go through to get online go like this:
1) Run PBsetup and update manually.
2) While PBsetup is updating open Task manager - check processes for "Punkbuster A" and "Punkbuster B"
3) a) if both A & B are running load PR and play no problems.
3) b) If only A is running open pbsvc and press the Test tab. When test is complete close pbsvc and open - Control panel- Administrative tools - Services - scroll to punkbuster B and start the service.
Now reopen Task manager and check processes for "Punkbuster A" and "Punkbuster B”. They should both be there. goto 3) a) load PR and play no problems.
This gets me onto a server without getting the : PB "B" handshake failure .
It is worth this trouble to get online and play this mod imo but a permanent repair would be appreciated.
