I've just started leading squads, and have found that a certain level of assholeishness is almost mandatory. As said, there's nothing more frustrating to me than to be attempting to lead a squad, only to have certain members constantly spawning with wrong kits, or always after the sniper rifle or helo. I've found the only way to weed these people out is to kick, and hope I get some better replacements.

Another thing I dislike is having a round start, and you've still got nine or ten players squadless, because someone doesn't want to start a squad, usually leading to a loss for that side.

If someone makes a squad and then cycles it once I join, and I end up squad leader, I wait till all the other squads have filled up, kick the original creator and lock the squad. It teaches them very fast :)

Having to kick squad members is just a sheer sign of absolute weakness and a failure on the squad leaders behalf :) , if someone is in the wrong squad (armour in infantry) then you ask them to leave and they do.

The assholeishness in squad leading comes from having utter belief in the FACT that you are God for these 5 people.
You TELL them where to go, how to act, when to shoot, when to run... If they argue with this fact of you absolute power then you destroy them mentally and emotionally, until they follow suit and do your bidding

A persons individual ability comes secondary, if there's a good SL then hell get the most out of the squad as a unit, not by kicking people to hope better ones come in, That's just an SL failing and relying on SMs to take up the slack

The gloooorious thing about being an SL is EVERYTHING is you fault, if it all goes totally tits up it's your fault (your SMs were just following orders) however if everything goes right then you coordinated that and you must let your SMs know that they were the ones who did the dirty

In short don't be a pussy :P with difficult people say NO! you're not going to go and do X your going to team up with Y and do Z instead, thankyou

Next time I lead a squadie I will but its mostly like 3 adventure guys I have to take care of and then there is one or two that is very new to it not like that is bad but when you have to take care of three guys who dont wanna do shit and one asking what to do and its like Whatever I quit.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

I'm still rather inexperienced at leading a squad, but I try only to kick people after giving them several chances either to leave the squad, due to them wanting to fly in an infantry squad for example, or because, no matter how hard I have tried, they will simply not follow valid orders, and insist on running off on their own. Whether this is down to me as a poor SL, I don't yet know, but it allows people to join the squad who actually wish to play as a team. I don't kick players due to them being poor at the game, but because they just wish to go off lonewolfing etc.

My experiences as SL were mostly good. Who had me as Co knows iam not shy at ordering people around. There is occasionally a "slow" squadmember, but mostly I had aright experiences and felt like I had really an impact on the game. One time on Muttrah we helt one of the major streets crossing east to west cutting off enemy movement.
Later we met an APC and I the HAT gunner went on the roof I ordered him on (with a lucky excape being fired at by the apc while moving up the stairs), moments later the apc was gone.

Good example from last night, I kick some muppet who fails to respond to the "Hey how`s it going"..
He rejoins, I kick him again, He rejoins and speaks, "Why do you kick me I just wanted the sniper kit".. I Alt+f4`d moments later..
Unfortunately too many of these mupppets nowadays...I had 2 of those loners yesterday in my squad. They were dying continously too...

A very good SL is still very rare, so I usually give my best to be the one. I allways try to be polite, but if you dont listen to me, then you´r out. Its funny but its still common thing that only 1/3 of squads have rallys up. How can you be effective without RP in PR? Or why are you SL if you dont even communicate with your SM-s?

Once I had one SL who was control freek. We didnt fight much because we spent most of our time crossing the streets in right order and such  Eventually I left the squad which I usually dont do. I think half of the in PR fun comes from communication with your teammates ;) Ppl are so different and keeping them organized is huge task. I personally prefer Finns if it comes to nationality, usually they talk a little and do what you ask them to do. :p On the contrary south origin ppl have all the time in their hands and god only knows whats going on in their minds

Sometimes you get people who dont respond in any way whatsoever. The only way to get rid of the m is to kick em ;)

I don't know, I really don't think it's worth it to be a prick in a game. People load this game up to have fun, not get yelled at by some arm-chair general who more than likely has never even led real troops.

Keep it dignified, keep it relaxed, and if you really feel the need to be a hard *** and want to tell people what to do in a battlezone, then join your repsective country's military and work your way through the ranks. Otherwise, your just an elitist poser.

um do you ever actually play on the public servers? no amount of saying NO is gonna stop some of these morons from being well.. morons. like i said before the people i kick are the ones that dont communicate in any way, the lonewolfers who fly planes and crash choppers when your squad is clearly named INFANTRY, and people without mics. if that makes me a "weak squadleader" because i dont want moron 12 year olds thinking this is a glorified vanilla and joining my squad, then i guess im a weak squad leader. however my squadmembers might argue against that.
